Roomie Tries ASMR on You During a Powercut 👂🎶 | Sleep aid | Tapping | Whispering | Hair Scritches

You and your roommate are deep into exam revisions when suddenly, a power outage plunges the room into darkness. It's already nighttime, and without the soothing glow of your bedside lamp, you begin to feel uneasy. Sensing your growing anxiety, she offers to try some ASMR techniques to help you relax and ease the tension...

(script by me)

Sound timestamps
6:00 : tapping on book

8:31 : flicking through pages

13:26 : squeezing the book

16:06 : crinkling sound 1

17:07 : crinkling sound 2 (more gentle)

19:40 : tapping on glass

29:51 to end : hair scritches

I have a question about hair scritches: do you like them quite loud, or gentle? I think they are quite gentle here but I always worry the sound isn't loud enough 🤔 Let me know in the comments! ❤️

I fell asleep at an Evanescence concert….is that ASMR or was I just overworked ?

Adrenaline Fed

Aw I'm so glad!

Angel

This is my all time favourite. I have had problems sleeping recently, but every time I listen to this one I just drift off. Thank you!

Azuri

Mission accomplished as always. 😎 Candlelight definitely has its charm and I absolutely adore them, but I think I’d enjoy it more if I didn’t associate powercuts with feeling completely lost in the dark. 😅

Luna

Funny how that works out sometimes

Noah Thompson

Really needed it too

Noah Thompson

Sounds like Storm really wants you to get some rest.

There's nothing wrong with improvement or experimentation. I think Einstein put it best when he was discussing scientific advancement. With every breakthrough you make, it opens up countless more questions to answer. Some may view it as a futile cycle, but I see it as an endless string of opportunities. Eventually, you find something that works, and sometimes you find something new.

User_Unknown

That's exactly the effect I was hoping for 😏 Haha I get it, although I kinda love powercuts, and candlelight 🕯️ 😊

Angel

Thank you!

Peter Allen

Happy birthday Peter!

Angel

😳 coincidence?!

Angel

I'm forever figuring out the best sound settings 😂

Angel

😂 😴

Angel

Ok good to know!

Angel

Yeah I thought they were a little quiet too! It's hard to get the right balance. Glad it worked!

Angel

Adding that to my Christmas list this year.

Yeah, it's like a headband with flat earphones. It's more comfortable than in-ears when you are lying down. There are a couple of similar products available, some have an eye mask etc. Audio quality isn't as good as proper headphones but that's to be expected from such a design. The idea is comfort. Much easier to fall asleep wearing them :)

The hair scritches are a little quiet. I can hear them, but turning up the volume a bit would make it even better. Sometimes ASMRists go overboard with sounds, making them too loud or too much, which can get distracting. But for sleep, this was spot on. I knocked out and didn’t wake up! 🤭 Overall, this is perfect for relaxing, working, studying, or sleeping. Love it!

Riron

Regarding your question about hair scritches, I personally like them on the louder side. While gentle is good, it doesn't quite hit the level where I can imagine them vividly and get tingles. I'd personally say yours here are on the quiet side but since this is a sleep aid and it's the final bit that's meant to not be too disruptive and potentially wake someone up, I think these are pretty good for that purpose! Had they been earlier in the audio or presented in a setting that isn't sleep aid, I'd personally prefer them a bit louder/less gentle.

LETS GOOOO!!!

INCEPTION MUSIC INTENSIFIES.

Meanwhile, an 80's slasher villian stands in the corner, a look of pure confusion hidden behind his hockey mask. "Uh, so... this is what you kids do nowadays? Okay, I'll just see myself out," he mutters, casually climbing out the window. This was a cute concept, Storm. Mentioning the tools you used was a nice touch as well. Reminds me of foley artists and the creative strategies they use to mimic sounds in movies. Well done! To answer your question, I prefer the hair scritches a little louder but not enough to overshadow the dialogue. I think that would strike a nice balance between gentle and rough. That and on my end, Patreon tends to be a bit finicky with volume compared to Youtube, so I have to raise it a bit. However, that could just be on my end.

Listening to this after three power lines exploded on my street and knocked out power.

Noah Thompson

Always love the softer sleep aid audios, great timing with the release for my birthday. Thank you.

What just happened? What kind of witchcraft was this? 😳 I see a notification, I press play, and I wake up 3 hours later after the best sleep I've had in a while, not knowing who I am or where I am. This is serious, you just put me to sleep in minutes. I haven’t felt so many tingles in ages. I had to listen to this again just to understand what you’ve done. And the conclusion is: you are the best at everything. 😌 I loved the tapping, but the hair scritches and soft whispers stole the show for me. It felt so personal and gentle, like a real-life moment. (And to answer your question, I personally loved how gentle the hair scritches were in this one, they felt perfect for the atmosphere you created. For me, when the sound gets too loud, it can lose that soothing quality and feel less relaxing, so I would choose gentle over loud any time.) Power cuts are scary, or at least, for me, they make me feel like I’m back in medieval times (and not in a good way). I’m a night person; I love the dark, but I always need at least a little bit of light. That’s why I have so many nightlights on batteries. 😅 Now, please, I would love a vitamin, because this left me weak in the best way possible. Jokes aside, this was pure relaxation. The attention to detail and the hard work clearly shine through. Thank you, Storm, for this comforting escape. 🤍

Luna

Listened to this after a long shift. This helped me knock out so fast. It was so nice

Marc Rosario

So this is an ASMR audio which involves ASMR for the listener and character? So ASMR²?

Korden

Is the snoozeband the thing you wrap around your head? I've been thinking about getting one.

Korden

That was really relaxing. I particularly liked the glass. :) Regarding scratching, gentle sounding is best even if it is louder. I use a snoozeband which doesn't have the loudest earphones unfortunately so making the audio louder helps with that.

NigiNigi-kun

This one almost tangibly melted my stress, thank you so much 🥹

Arets Paeglis

I definitely prefer gentle scritches, this was amazing

Faras Corbillion

I personally think the mileage varies when it comes to head scratching/brushing. These were nice. I personally prefer them a bit louder, but a lot of people do it in a way that's overwhelming. All in all I thought this was a cute idea that worked really well :D

Sarin 031

Gentle

Jonathon deJong

Love you beautiful ❤️

Your asmr always helps me fall asleep, I can't wait to listen to this tonight. 🙏
