"Ruthie" does psychic damage to me every time I watch it. In fact, before season 5 came out, it was my favorite episode of the entire show, for so viscerally depicting the mental state of my favorite character, contextualizing her actions, and ultimately making me feel so much worse than the show really ever had.
It's tough to say, of course- this show's got a lot of moments, but the end of this episode always stuck with me more than others. Perhaps it's the composition of the episode itself, or perhaps it's how much I always related to Princess Carolyn. Either way, this episode is completely relatable, incredibly well-written, and utterly tragic. The epitome of "Bojack Horseman".
