Why Hollyhock Was RIGHT To Leave Bojack!
Added 2024-04-04 03:52:18 +0000 UTCHonestly, not sure if this is a controversial opinion or not, but I always felt that this must've been a really tough decision to make, that we never actually see on screen. I think, from a storytelling perspective, it was smart not to have Hollyhock appear, to facilitate the disconnection further, but it did break my heart. However, upon thinking about it, I realize that she must've agonized over this decision. Hollyhock is a genuinely kind person, and she knew what Bojack was going through. This couldn't have been easy on her.
And, for all the reasons listed in this video, I think she had every right to do this for herself. Like I said, it probably wasn't easy, but it was likely necessary for her to be able to grow on her own. Yes, it's tragic, and yes, I wish that they had a happier ending...but I think this is far more realistic. Some people end up prioritizing themselves and moving on. Not everyone has the patience.
