He stoops to conquer
Added 2022-01-24 17:59:17 +0000 UTCAfter my slight wobble at the end of last week, I've had a bit of a reshuffle of the schedule, looked deep into the inner landscape, and worked out a (fairly) gentle Lottie story that I think you'll enjoy, one that won't send me into an early grave. I'll post some process material over the coming weeks. For my own good, I will be spending most of this week on light duties (tidying up, listless leaning against fence posts, half-hearted painting of grubby household woodwork), getting much needed rest.

FIG 1: I am sorry that there cannot be a Great British Bump-Off but here are a tiny fraction of my many notes for it.
While considering my options for forthcoming material, I looked back over Circus Windows, the two-parter I ran this time last year. Boy, I tried hard with that one. Due to a "bad ergonomic situation" I drew a lot of it with a slipped disc. Due to the constant ingress of damp where I was temporarily living, I pencilled almost the whole of the second part of it sitting next to an open window in January in my puffer puffer jacket. And yet I think it turned out as one of my best looking comics. I've attached both PDF parts so readers at all tiers can now enjoy it in hi-res.

Circus Windows was so good. I really love how it all came together at the climax. Great stuff.
