Cultivating Creativity for Success in Life and Business

Cultivating Creativity for Success in Life and Business

Every single time I have felt this non-form space in my life I have made significan advancement. For some reason it's something I've rarely come back to. I'm actively working on creating it in my morning routine lately, so I hope to see those results more often.

Great word, thank you Devin for those insights, what would you propose to someone who is full of ideas but doesn't know how to execute or they are gripped in "analysis paralysis" because they have too many different ideas and don't know which way to go? Thank you once again :)

"Ideas have to have place to exist." - F**king fire line, Devin. I'm going to start scheduling 30 minutes in the morning to just... exist.

I used to get yelled out for zoning out all the time by authority figures. I'm finally glad to start hearing that it can be a crucial part of success. I'd love to hear about how to bridge creativity and execution. How to make plans and stick to them while also allowing for adjustments and unexpected hurdles.

Man I really needed to hear this! The most creative and productive times in my life have been when I gave myself that free space to think, and I’ve completely filled it with external media input lately. I’m gonna try to take back the first hour of my day with no media at all

I really love the connection between life spirituality and business here. This is exactly what I believe an ideal CEO should be like so the company can always improve. I imagine the “space” you mention as creating the opportunity for new possibilities to come into your life. That along with a mind that can logically figure out if these new possibilities are really possible with the technology we have. Thanks Devin! This is a great video.

Generally because of my lack of time "mastering" the content creation facilitation space as compared to many of the best and brightest in the industry, and my lack of applying "common wisdom" processes and practices that are recognizable "proof" of competence in the space, I find it easiest to defer to those around me when the inevitable "unzip and compare" battles crop up. This can often reinforce assumptions about my abilities & knowledge, or lack there of, creating a lot of "see I told you!" arrogance, shade, and hostility, fired off in my direction. Still I find it to be the superior path when compared to trying to engage and throw down in my own defense when this pointless bullshit fests erupt. I've never found there to be any viable path to victory in those sort of pissing contests where facts & knowledge count for nothing, and gatekeeping & rallying your tribe against the "villain" are the skills that carry the day. My little mini-rant about feeling obligated to just concede most confrontations focused on my "legitness" aside, this particular topic on enabling and channeling creativity in my day and my work, is territory where I have great confidence and will opt to stand my ground. Presented with the question, "What value can you provide, and what can you do where your peers struggle to match you?" I don't hesitate to claim that my ability to maintain and use shoshin in my approach to anything I do, and the volume and quality of my creative flows seem to be significantly superior to most people I've encountered and observed. In fact one of my greatest challenges has been to filter and modulate that creative flow well enough, to not overwhelm and drown people I communicate with in a crush of ideas that triggers their mental circuit breakers and causes them to disengage rather than to be inspired. My point being I think, when people wonder how I accomplished something, or pulled off something that shouldn't be possible for someone of "my caliber and experience", the answer is this ability. Having this, or being able to mindfully cultivate this like Devin is describing in this video, is the difference between many things being impossible, to them suddenly becoming solvable problems. I'm sure this was a fairly in-eloquent way of saying that you cannot overestimate the value of this concept and the benefits of implementing it into your daily routine.
