I Built a Real-World Mobile phone Game (and I’d Love for You to Try It!)

HI Everyone,

Something a little different!

When I was a teenager, one of my favorite games was something my friends and I called Manhunt — one person would run and hide, and the rest of us would team up to track them down. It was wild, exhausting, and ridiculously fun.

Ever since then, I’ve wanted to bring that feeling back in a modern way… and that’s why I built Seekr.run.

It’s basically high-tech hide-and-seek with maps that you can play anywhere — in your own city, park, or neighborhood. It works in the browser so there is no need to install any apps and it works with Apple and Android phones.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Start a game → Create a lobby and invite your friends using a code or QR.

  2. Invite friends → Everyone joins the same lobby.

  3. Choose roles → One person is the Fugitive, everyone else are the Hunters.

  4. Start the chase → The Fugitive tries to survive until the timer runs out while Hunters work together to track them down on the live map.

The lobby looks like this:

👉 I’d love for you to be among the very first players to try it out and give me some feedback. Just grab a few friends, jump into a game, and let me know what you think. Your feedback means the world as I continue improving Seekr.run.

Thanks for your support.

Please leave me any feedback in the comments.

Sounds awesome, but may I suggest adding a speed limit monitor to keep players from driving recklessly just to finish the challenge. Something simple, like a system that triggers a warning if it detects speeding, followed by a countdown before a hunter is eliminated (or vice versa). PS, The Fugitive was definitely hiding in Stonehenge wasn't he?
