“ Baby Guts for the win!” Darn right! The Moonlight Boy is though to be the key to how this will resolve by a lot of people! We shall see how it plays out… there are a few ideas in my head and, well, it’s Berserk so some are not nice. 😕 I think Moonlight Boy looks like Guts in profile, when he is standing on the world tree. He is a pretty little kid! He’s probably around 4 by now. One of the ideas that is played with in these chapters is Guts being saved by children and women. As a woman, I tend to hear the complaint that Berserk has lost its edge due to the softer side of this manga. I beg to differ! Guts is tearing himself apart for the ones he loves! It is a lesson that Guts in his two yr rampage to fight apostles probably would have turned a blind eye to. His own child, Scheirke, the Marrow, and Farnese finally learning to heal him means that Guts has learned to trust in someone weaker than himself. He needs all the help he can get! Chitch! As you pointed out, the idea of trusting another person is carried over due to the warmth Guts feels. I think Guts is maybe 14 in this story. Yes, it’s before the Band of the Hawk days… he was 15 at that time. Guts has always been a good natured person despite the abuse. It kind of makes his story more tragic in a way. I always get the feeling that Guts at this age acted like an adult but emotionally was still very much a child. He just never got the chance to be a child so it was represented. So….. Puck is not the first elf Guts knew! 🤔
