Future Story Ideas
Added 2023-11-30 02:07:20 +0000 UTCI have a few story ideas I've been kicking around in my head. I've been wanting to start a new one but I barely have time to write the current four, so they'll probably have to wait until I finish one, or more likely get to a good stopping point and put one on hiatus. I'd also like to have more than an arc or two written before I start posting, at least to start XD
1. Royal Ascendance - About a guy who is a prince in an elective monarchy, where the nobles vote for the next monarch once the current one hits 50 years old. It would be about him doing things to win votes. Not sure if want to do in a magic-world or not. At least as I have planned out, it wouldn't be a harem. Maybe more than one, but not a dozen like some of my series XD I actually have a tentative first chapter written out, although I'm not too happy with it. Would also have low sexual content.
2. Retired Adventurer (not actual title) - About an adventurer going through a mid-life crisis who decides one day he wants to start a family. Would not be a harem, probably more slice-of-life, and probably not a lot of sexual content.
3. Tavern Wench Enjoyer (my working title) - About an adventurer who travels around and documents his relationships with different tavern girls. Would be a lot 'smuttier' than my current stuff. Would probably not even be able to post on Royal Road lol.
4. Napoleon Reborn as an Englishwoman - I had this kicking around in my head for a while, probably since earlier this year when I first saw the Napoleon movie trailers. Basically, reincarnate Napoleon in an alternate earth where he's an English woman (as the name suggests). It would start with him coming to grips with having to become his two biggest fears, before trying to make his way into the military with his previous life knowledge. Also thinking of including magic to make it more interesting and not just an alternate history.
5. Wrong Shoe Locker - Guy puts a love letter into a shoe locker to confess, but puts it in the wrong one. When he goes up to meet to hear her answer, the person he accidentally placed it in accepts his confession though. He then gets convinced he has to at least date her for a bit or else he'd look bad in the eyes of the person he actually tried to confess to.

Thanks for the feedback! On 5 - Making it contemporary was actually kind of the point on that one. I realized I was only writing isekai/fantasy-type stuff, so wanted to branch out and try something set in Modern IRL lol XD

2023-11-30 04:39:27 +0000 UTC1. This one just aint hitting for me, maybe I'm just tired lmao. 3. This one seems more anthology to me and means you might not see a character you like a second time. If it were something like "Tavern Wench Collector" and he found the wenches with super odd abilities that actually work really well in a part, that might be interesting. 4. My only problem with this concept is the risk of depicting an actual historical figure as one type of personality over another. In reference to the movie, I have read people criticizing the movie as being the British propaganda version of Napoleon. Maybe a solution would be to have the person be a history major and strive to emulate Napoleon's successes but avoid his failures. 5. A definite departure from the rest. Not too much to say as I personally am not a fan of contemporary fiction in general. Though that said the concept itself isn't limited to modern times, you could have it be a scenario where a noble sends a courtship request to the wrong house, resulting in medieval shenanigans.
