Copy Cats: Making a Bad Impression

One of the best parts of doing these is when someone identifies the music. Ten points!

I initially thought that Lionel Richie was supposed to be 80s Engelbert Humperdinck, or Gary Glitter with a tache. Love your usage of the Timm Thaler theme.

The "who do you do" bit is a reference to the previous incarnation of the show; a little easter egg for all the Copy Cats heads out there! But like everything else, just unbearably smug, considering they're the dirt-worst.

That fucking song. It's more for them than the audience, isn't it? So they can tell themselves they're really 'in showbusiness', taking their rightful place alongside Fred Astaire, Groucho Marx and Frank Sinatra. Still can't get it out my head though. Even though it took me a good few listens to figure out that the second line wasn't just "They greet you and hoo-dee-doo." Like, just made up nonsense because nobody gave a fart about it. Finally figured out it was "...they greet you with 'who d'you do?'". Which is even more confusing. Why are they asking us who we do? They're the Copy Cats. Fucking hell. I'll say this for them though - they are quite a crew.
