Plague Month Poll - You Decide
Added 2023-04-24 12:37:48 +0000 UTC
As you've probably seen me harping on about, a few weeks ago, I got laid up with a well-bad case of Covid, and couldn't breathe without coughing up my entire spine, much less take 10,000 words of notes about an old episode of Bill Oddie's Saturday Banana.
I'm better than I was, but still pretty rough, and my voice is wrecked. Consequently, I couldn't record any voiceover tracks. By this point in the month, I'm usually cutting a second video, but can't start editing without the voiceover. (For transparency, out of necessity, I've always got a few finished videos in hand, but ideally need to keep it that way)
As a result, putting out a regular amount of content next month would really leave me scrambling to catch up without affecting the quality. So, what to do? I'll leave it up to you, with a couple of options for May's Plague Month.
Option 1: Pausing Payments. Essentially the Patreon goes on holiday for a month. You don't pay anything, I don't post anything, and I'll see you in June.
Option 2: Reduced Content. You pay the same as always, but for less content, namely: One video and one chapter of fiction (and maybe some bonus material along the lines of Poetry Month/Flash Fiction Month).
Whatever happens, we'll return to the normal schedule in June. When I previously broached the possibility of pausing payments, comments were unanimously against it, however I'm aware there were still 120-odd Patrons who hadn't voiced their opinion, so I want to give everyone a fair say.
Unlike Elon, however it lands, I will abide by the result. Poll's open until 10pm (GMT) on Friday night.
As always, thanks for your support and patience. This month's second chapter and video will be here later in the week.
Cheers!
Comments
Plague Month confirmed as Reduced Content in a 100% clean sweep, amazing. (Although a bit childish for everyone to agree on casting exactly 69 votes, grow up!!) Thanks everyone, for your votes, and your kind and encouraging comments. You've made a pretty rotten time much less stressful. I shall now regain my energies so I can watch more absolutely abhorrent television on your behalves.

2023-04-24 21:20:01 +0000 UTCPut your trotters up. I know from personal experience just what COVID can do, and it was very unpleasant. Wishing you a speedy recovery from COVID nob-ache etc!

2023-04-24 18:02:27 +0000 UTCGet well Stuart. Like Ben Holton, I've got a couple of vids to catch-up on during forthcoming Saturday mornings, inbetween old episodes of Grange Hill. No need to pause payments.

2023-04-24 15:05:44 +0000 UTCEasy answer, your stuff is cheap at twice the price. I'm still keen to read all the old pre-Patreon FP blog posts if you ever fancy collating them into an ebook or somesuch. Or even do a "blast from the past" feature each month
