Pure is a weatherFX script. WeatherFX is a module of CSP. Other modules of CSP are lightingFX, extraFX and so on. So CSP is the big library which brings all the advanced stuff for AC. Pure is an additional packages which uses weatherFX to improve the weather and graphics way further.

In Windows if you extract the 4 folder to your AC rrot folder, it will ONLY replace the older files Pure files. It will NOT delete or replace ANY other files! So just do the install like shown in the video... DO NOT drag'n'drop them! Use 7zip app and its Extract button!!!

Sorry for my English and maybe that stupid question :  When there is a new version of Pure, I don't really what to do because I have downloaded Mods of Cars and Tracks so the folder "Content" have been modifed (Helmets, Teams have been added in it). So, the question is : when there is a new version of Pure, can I replace only new files instead of the complete "Content" folder ?  Concerning other folders like "Apps,Extension and System" and other files : can I drag and drop them directly in Assetto Corsa Folder without risking to erase things I have downloaded ? Its a 3rd party PPfilter for Pure Gamma. PPfilter modders can use any name they want for their PPfilter mod. So maybe just try it out. If someone would call it "MEGA Explosion PPfilter for Pure", would it make explosions just because of the name?

Thank you for working on linux, I have just recently started experimenting with linux using the bazzite distro for a possible switch soon from windows bs and make it the main OS, only leave windows for what doesn't work. I have managed to get AC working with CM, CSP, Pure but seems to be a bit iffy and unstable, some car mods not working throwing errors. So interested to see your guide on how to install and set up everything, so I can redo it. Maybe I'm missing something.

After getting pure 3.0 I've noticed that LCS looks pretty bad in comparison to 2.57 pure lcs, and pure pp does not recognize 3.0 pure lcs as a pure script so i cannot change the exposure to be higher that it is or change the photo realism of the filter. In pure lcs if it rains or it is slightly sunrise or sunset it is so dark you can only see your taillights and if it is night it is pure black. I know you work hard on this but i would just like to bring this to attention especially for the people who like lcs better than gamma.

Sorry, idk! Do you use Microsoft Onedrive? Could be it restores the CSP config files in your Documents folder. Try to deactivate it.

why is my pure doesn't work? i literally change the weatherfx, i do the same what the video shows me, but when i go to a signle practice race, the graphics is the original. Then i went to the pure config panel, and also turned on, changed the graphics but nothing. Only the game freezes 1sec, i probably see the amazing graphics, but then change to the default. Whats the problem? i'm using csp 0.3 and this new pure.

Pure is only on the client side. So if you select it as weather style, you will use it, no matter on which server you are. In Pure Planner - the weather controlling app - you can only change the weather look in online sessions. As a client you can't change time, date or rain. That is a natural limitation in AC/CSP!

Track and road temperature is set to 0°C in single races by default, no matter the temperature and wind values set in the CM Drive menu before starting the session. I had previously never touched the temperature values from the Pure Planner app. When I set them to some value in the app, afterwards changing the values in CM Drive did work. Was wondering why my tires wouldn't warm up the whole race. I also believe that setting the temperatures to dynamic (aka ticking the checkboxes in the app) by default would be better in general, no? Regardless, great work.

Please help! I have installed the latest CM – Pure 3.0 and Pure 3.03 hotfix – LightsPatch 0.3.0prew140. My PC is top-tier, with all software fully up to date. However, when I play older tracks like Hockenheim F1 Classics 2.0, I’m getting a picture without asphalt and car is in the air. But when I play newer tracks like Imola F1 2025, everything works as it should. I installed everything manually, not through CM. I’m also using HDR enabled on the latest Windows 11 Pro. Monitor: Samsung 57". Is this an issue with the patch, or am I missing something?

Gamma Color space is used in older games and also in Vanilla Assetto Corsa. In video games, you calculate the lighting with a much higher dynamic, than you can output on the Monitor. A monitor usually only has 8bit color resolution per channel (RGB). But this is very rough to calculate light. You would see many quantification then. So internally you use a much higher range, but then you must compress it, to display it on monitors. That is what tonemapping does. But tonemapping is an additional render pass. In Gamma Color space, the light calculation uses a higher dynamic, but it is already compressed in the calculation. A "gamma" curve is used to shrink high tone values to lower ones. Therefore it is still possible to output the result of that calculations without tonemapping. That is what AC uses, if you deactivate PP on the video settings. Those calculations are done in different "shaders". They calculate the sun, ambient and many other lights on the materials. So AC uses Gamma shaders and CSP also do to be compatible. But this Gamma calculations bring many errors into the calculation. The lighting is already compressed and high tone values are wrongly mixed. Kunos prevents this by keeping the sunlight (which has the highest value) low. That works for most cases, but the result always feels dull and you always have the feel of missing sunlight. But it can work without Postprocessing and tonemapping. In Postprocessing you have the same functions to handle dynamics. Gamma is a function there too, but PP is already at the end of the render path and it has no meaning for the shaders. That's why it is called POST processing . So now comes a new part of CSP, to improve lighting. Ilja added new shaders to calculate the lighting linear, like in every modern game. The tone values are no more compressed within the color mixing and light calculation. So you have a very natural processing of the light. But now you really need tonemapping to compress the resulting tones to displayable tones on the monitor. The new shaders are called LCS shaders. Linear color space shaders. To work with them it was needed to rewrite the weather style and therefore there are now 2 versions of Pure. Pure Gamma is the Pure which works with the older gamma shaders. And it represents my 3 year long work to create a very natural light in Gamma space. Pure LCS is a new weather style which exclusively uses LCS shaders and it is completely different to Pure Gamma. In Pure LCS I introduced a lot more methods to make the weather style efficient to save fps and keep the frame flow steady and equal. So Pure LCS is the newest invention in terms of a weather style and it will give you great performance. But Pure LCS is no more usable with Postprocessing deactivated. But it has a way better color presentation and better ways to create real life like graphics.

Hi Peter, I have a question regarding the Rain Wetness behavior in Pure. Would it be possible to limit the maximum Rain Wetness to 0.8% when using dynamic wetness? The reason is that the AI starts to lose pace and stability once the wetness goes above ~0.8%. All other factors (rain amount, humidity, water buildup, etc.) are fine, the only value that causes AI issues is Rain Wetness itself. So I would like Rain Wetness to stay dynamic, but never exceed 0.8%. Is there currently a way to set this limit, or could such a cap be supported in a future update or config option? Thanks a lot!

Open the CSP preview zip file and EXTRACT the "dwrite.dll" and the "extension" folder to your AC root folder (Steam install folder of AC "common\assettocorsa").

Sorry, but Pure does not handle rain physics. This is all about CSP and how the car configs are made. Be sure you have "extented physics" active in the Drive menu! You can use the ingame CSP weatherFX debug app and lower the "rain thickness" there. Otherwise i have no glue about it.

This is related to the grassFX settings in the track config. You could manually customize this. It is different for every track. Pure has no influence on this. You must search the related grass entry in the track config ini.

Hi, anyone know how to fix a blurry dash when the headlights are switched on whilst using CSP 0.3.0-preview140 and Pure 3.0 with the hotfix. The dash with the headlights off is sharp and clear. Yes, for rain you need a CSP preview version from Ilja Yusupov, the creator of CSP. Pure works with the free and the payed version. Its you decicion if you want to have rain or not.

In the post you see the minimum versions of CSP for Pure. For Pure Gamma you need at least CSP 0.2 and for Pure LCS you need at least CSP 0.2.3

Sorry but nexkFX stabilization has nothing to do with preventing stutter. I can't implement something to prevent stutter on your PC, esp if those stutters are random. There could be many reasons for that, like background processes, or if data are loaded. Could be also server related!

Thanks for the update Peter! One issue that I'm having is that the audio on the RSS Formula 2/3/4 cars is broken with 0.3.0-preview120. The audio is very scratchy. Reverting to 0.2.12-preview1 fixes the issue. I'm not sure if it's a CSP or Pure issue. I've tried playing with the audio settings in Pure, but nothing seems to fix the scratchy audio.

I'm at my wits end trying to get rid of this distance blur. Older version didn't have this, disabling taa helps a bit but introduces aliasing. might have to revert back

Idk what you pay in your country! But Pure works with the free CSP. If you want rain/snow you need a subscription with Ilja Jusupov. If you don't want to support his work then be glad you can use almost everything in CSP for free for years...

Yes, but snow comes with CSP previews! So you need at least CSP 0.2.6p1 to get snow. Then Pure will force snow in the Snow weathers and if ambient temperature is below 3°C. But you need a CSP preview version for this...

You need Content Manger and CSP. For Pure you can use the free versions of CM and CSP. Just watch the install video! It also shows how you install CSP preview if you have it. You get it if you subscribe to Ilja Jusupov Patreon. With this you have rain in Assetto Corsa. But for Pure you don’t need it. Just use the free versions of Pure for now, which you install in CM directly…

You can’t select a mode directly in Pure Planner. It just tells you what mode you can activate. In replays you can activate the replay override and in online you can only activate the direct mode, but then again you can only change the weather look. You CAN‘T change rain, date or time in online sessions!!!

Installed Pure 3.0. Having strange issue where Pure Gamma drag fps down to unplayable level while Pure LCS seems to render effortlessly at 240fps but the sky is dark and time of day sliders don't seem to make a difference. Could be my installing as I'm new to this. What should I check?

Pure has nothing to do with AI splines. It only uses the AI splines for its groundfog shader to draw fog along the spline. Otherwise it has no influence on AI splines it just reads them…

Hi Peter, Not sure if this is one for you or for Ilja, I'm running the latest version of CSP from this week, and Pure 3.0. I am repeatedly finding that AC is slowing down to like 2fps when it should be running 60+. Sometimes it happens when loading AC and Pure goes through its weather cycle at the start until it gets to the right conditions, or sometimes it happens when changing PPFilter, or, I can repeatedly get it to happen if I go from Day - Night - Day in Pure Planner. I have run uninstallsol/pure.bats, then installed Pure by extracting to AC root folder using 7zip. Using Pure LCS, with most of ACs other quality settings turned on/up (using an RTX3070) Using a HDR display, with AC in windowed mode, with HDR enabled in DXGI settings, and ppfilter related HDR values setting enabled, as per the HDR setup guide. Both NVIDIA and Steam overlays are disabled. I also find that the minimum black level with PureHDR ppfilter is quite high at night, with PureLinear giving a more realistic night time blacklevel. Screenshots taken with any filter other than PureLinear look massively overexposed and even with PureLinear, they have a higher contrast than they should.

The sky at night is always solid black and during the day it's always white, no clouds. I tried different ppfilters and also going back to default settings. Doesn't change. CSP 0.2.3 and this version of Pure. What's the problem? Anything else works fine.

Reset CSP settings completely! Goto /Documents/Assetto Corsa/cfg/ rename the "extension" folder to something different. Restart CM. It will create a new "extension" folder. You can restore it later. Select Pure as weather style again in CSP weatherFX settings.

Hi, I've upgraded to Pure 3.0 and new CSP now I've lost a ton of textures for my tracks. Nordschlife only has the actual track textures, all vegitation and pit stuff has gone. Similare with Shotoku. Other tracks like Bathurst don't seem to be effected. Any idea what's happening?

just installed together with new CSP 030. I am driving VRC FA25 and on some racetrack AC crashes reporting an error about track textures. If you need I can share the crash log. It happens if I set WHEATHER STYLE=PURE LCS. no problem if I set it to PURE GAMMA. I take the chance of my feedback for 2 questions about graphics setting. 1) SSLR quality to Hi-Z is significavely better than ti Simple new? is it worth? 2) while racing with AI on some tracks I suffer an unexpected slow-mo of the games (it is not a topic of FPS, all the game seems in slow-mo and then a kind of Fast Forward to recover the lost time)... what can it be due to? This has nothing todo with Pure! RainFX is a module of CSP and Pure is just controlling the rain strength. So you probably also updated CSP?! And now it is a side effect of a incomplete car config or something else in CSP. If you switch to "default" weather script, you still have this effect?

Just install it over the exisiting one! You must use 7zip app and you must use the "Extract" button to extract the 4 folders to your used AC root folder. Also check your used AC root folder in CM - settings - Content Manager - general!
