Latest Update! Insurance!!

I'm sending this to you from the awesome Nav Station aboard Calypso! We wanted to send you an update as to what's been happening for the past few days.
After a 5 day journey by car, we arrived in Florida! We immediately began cleaning and moving aboard Calypso, our new-to-us 2013 Antares 44i! She is lovely and has TONS of space! All systems are working well and we're looking great!!
Along with the move aboard process, we've been finalizing all the paperwork needed for the purchase. More on that later, as it's still a work in progress. This update is about insurance!
Calypso is currently insured under Boat U.S. It's a good, safe insurance policy. The problem is that Boat U.S won't cover us any further than the Turks. So we've decided to make a change before we leave. We're in the middle of switching our insurance from Boat U.S. to an insurance provider that will cover us no matter where we go. Even across the Atlantic, more on that possibility later!
One of the steps of a new policy might include a new insurance survey...Luckly it would be an "in water" survey with a diver taking photos of the bottom. That's huge, hauling her out would mean a trip north...That would be the wrong way and take more time up.
We've hired an insurance broker, he's in the middle of working the switch. One we have all the details, we'll be sure to post them for you!!
We're hoping to leave the dock within a week from now, we'll most likely be heading down to a staging area for a passage over the West End, Bahamas.
From there...The journey will begin!
