That’s right, we're at it again! We jumped aboard the Antares 44i this past weekend. We did a quick provision trip to get us through 5 days and we are currently headed south! Only this time it’s a little different. The Captain of the vessel, John, is only sailing with us for 5 out of the 15 days. I know, crazy! He must really trust us and feel safe leaving his floating home in our hands. So we plan to play around Key West of course and possibly head off to the Dry Tortugas for a week before heading back up the Keys to Ft. Lauderdale where we will meet up with John again later in the month.
At this very moment we're making our first and rather long passage of 90 miles from St. Pete to Fort Myers. We'll drop anchor for a night before making another 100 mile hop to Boca Chica military base where the Captain will catch a flight. We'll then provision for 10 days and hopefully head west for the Dry Tortugas! This is an amazing opportinuty for us as we'll get a chance to see what it’s like aboard a catamaran with it just being our little family. I hope that it helps us make our final decision on a catamaran VS mono hail. Wish us luck!
