Headed south on a lovely vessel!

Ok, we've navigated down the ICW through some pretty cold weather and finally arrived in Ft Lauderdale! The trip down the coast was good. The Captain of this sexy beast didn't have a ton of confidence in her ability because he's/she's been stuck at the dock for so long. 

You'll find that when you sit at the dock, confidence leaves you pretty quickly. You start to talk about reasons why you can't vs why you should! It's easy to get in the rut which is exactly why we offered to help him sail her. As we go you can see the fire starting to get rekindled in his eyes, that's for sure! There is now less talk about why he can't and more about where he can now go! 

She has some small gripes that we're working out as we go. The starboard engine wouldn't start electrically (from the helm) so we had to hot wire it at first. That's now sorted out and it's starting fine. Another issue was the water pump being very weak...Looking into it a bit more and we found the issue. You'll see that on an upcoming video! 

So now we're here...We have a few things to do. When Jeremiah removed ground power from the dock he found the cables had been arching BAD...Dangerously so. While here, we're replacing the cables and the sockets with some high speed new square ones. We're finishing wiring the water maker today and we have a throttle issue to sort out. Then up goes the Genoa because now we have some offshore sailing to do. Shouldn't be more than two days hopefully and then we're heading out to sea! 

Overall, the boat is amazing! It's so smooth and easy to operate. You'll get to see the details soon! Jeremiah is basically the back up (give you lots of tips as you go) Captain and I'm the cook! Which I love. Normally you'd pay people to do this type of thing for you, obviously the Captain-for-hire would need to have a Captains license in order to. We've been quoted at $400 a day from just regular sailors to ride along with us when we lacked confidence lol We didn't take the sailors along. 

Anyway, we took this opportunity at no cost for the owner. We even covered the food for the trip. We thought it would be a great experience and it's an AWESOME test to see if we like sailing a Catamaran!

So back to getting this baby set to sail!
