Hello beautiful Patrons!
We recently posted on social media that we have a big announcement coming, obviously you get the news first! While it's pretty huge for us and would be for anyone in our position as a blogger/vlogger, you won't be effected because you have access to our Vimeo videos.
The announcement? We are ending our YouTube series of videos. Our videos from here out will be posted on our Vimeo seasons, for you!
Why would you do that, you might ask?? Good question!
To make a very long story short...The sailing YouTube channel community has become very populated since we started our channel. When we started up, it was pretty much Delos, La Vagabonde and Uma...At least that's who we watched. We started our channel and many, many others did as well.
That has caused a surge in activity that we aren't willing to tolerate. Channels have gone from a fun way to share and make friends to something else. We didn't start this channel to make money and we don't run it now to make money. We did and do this for our enjoyment and we really enjoy sharing with you!
The drama? There are sailing channels that honestly aren't in this for the enjoyment of sailing away. Priorities instead focus on "stealing Patrons from other channels"...Coming up with drama between channels and more. We've even had another sailing vlogger make a clone of our channel and make crazy, very rude comments to people that had commented on our videos, as if it had been us. It's nothing but immature drama, it's childish and it's NOT sailing.
This thing, in our opinion, should be a freeing experience that you get to be a part of! Enjoying as someone is trying something out of the norm, for real. Watching as they give it their all. Enjoying their successes and popping yourself in the head as you watch their failures. It shouldn't be for nothing more than financial gain and to not work a job. Perhaps those folks should have completed a career first, then focused on the journey instead of the above...Over to them for that. So with this new land of sailing channels, we've decided to back away from YouTube where they reside...Counting their statistics on viewers and other channels.
We're going to continue to make videos just as before. they will go on our private Vimeo account that you have access to! If you have any issues with your access please message us to let us know.
You might think doing this will slow us down attaining Patrons...and you're probably right. But it really isn't about that for us. We appreciate all of you and we love that you enjoy our videos. So lets continue on, for the enjoyment of what sailing should be...Or at least attempting to sail somewhere without hitting the ground too hard!
The YouTube channel will stay as it is and we might use it for a trailer type of thing for each video just to let subscribers know it's on Vimeo for them.
If you have any questions or concerns? Please message us anytime!
Brittany, Jeremiah and the kids!
