Character Preview: Risa

I've had some cool characters before, and plenty of cute and pretty ones. But for maybe the first time, this is a character who embodies the concept of being cool. Or at least, I think she is!

Inspired by seeing cool girls with cool hats lately, I've wanted to properly make a character with custom hair made specifically to work with a fitted cap. One of my main complaints with hats in Honey Select is that, in order to make them look realistic in size and fit, they need to be fitted onto the head. However, pretty much every hairstyle in the game is designed with much more volume and as such, in order to make hats work with hairs in the game they must either be comically large or sit too far onto the top of the head in an unrealistic way.

I feel that the extra work involved for making characters with hats is often not worth it, because fitting the hair to work with hats often means that it looks awful without the hat on, and the character completely loses their identity. In this case, in order to fit the cap, I used a bunch of hair accessories and had to fit them in such a way that I highly recommend you do not remove the hat! Otherwise, she's going to look pretty bad.

Anyways, Risa is a vibe that I haven't gone for in a while. Cool blue hair, a drippy outfit and all the confidence to go with it, she's the kind of girl who catches your eye on the street not strictly because she's attractive, but because she's just so COOL. Of course, she's cute as well, but her style and her fashion should be enough of a clue that she's not your everyday girl, and it's said she has a fan club comprised of both men and women. Creating her outfit took a bit of trial and error and there's some unavoidable clipping going on, but I think it looks pretty good if you don't look too carefully. Maybe someone with a better eye than I could have outfitted her in something equally as cool without the problems!

This character uses mods from GDC, Hooh and Freelancer in particular, and of course include many mods from the repack. Patrons, you'll find this character in your February 2025 folder! Coming up next is another girl with a hat, but in the opposite direction of being this dripped out! Look forward to it!

And yes, I should say, I've been pumping out girls pretty quickly recently, but please don't get too used to the pace x)
