Scion Dynasties

A slightly updated version of the Character Classes is coming shortly, consisting mostly of minor corrections and additions. One part I wanted to share in advanced was the following section, which will be added to the scion character class: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p4l1WAzwlNWxRxe32qXVWNEJpnBLR9qG/view?usp=sharing

The final version of the rules and setting material will include a fair number of tables like this, both to provide useful information in a compact way and to encourage referees and players alike to be inventive with their version of sha-Arthan. As always, the goal is to play in the setting rather than simply to read about it and, to achieve that, I plan to include lots of little aids like this.

Comments

There will be some information about these matters in the a separate sections – but not too much. I very much want to provide individual referees (and players) flexibility in deciding what *their* sha-Arthan is like rather than having to hang on my every word.

I assume all of the Dynasties would be land holders and have other merchant or artisan interests just to keep them wealthy. Any affluent family has to have a revenue foundation, not unlike the Patrician class in Rome. How are the politics between the Dynasties? Are Gan Nalak and Gan Shanu rivals? Are there feuds or vendettas between Dynasties? (e.g. Harkonnen & Atreides) Is there inter-marriage between the Dynasties? (e.g. Romeo & Juliet) Is there a hierarchical structure to each Dynasty? I just want to know more.
