Imagine you are in a bank and someone comes in to rob it. In the ensuing panic the robber fires a gun wildly, and you get hit in the arm. Do you think to yourself: "that was lucky, it only hit me in the arm - or do you think "oh my god, it would be ME that got shot - bloody typical". In the first case, you consider yourself to be lucky - in the second case you consider yourself to be unlucky. Just to be clear, in both scenarios, the answer is wrong. There is no such thing as being lucky or unlucky - that is just our brain looking for connections between unrelated events - aka confirmation bias. The universe does not revolve around individuals - it seems like it does to each of us, but again, that's just our brains doing what it does best - tricking us (which, when you consider that our mind IS us, makes that a pretty clever trick...). Reality just obeys the laws of physics (including the ones we don't know about yet)...
