Added 2025-05-22 13:00:13 +0000 UTCThe actor playing Father Jack is so damn good! Haha! It must be so fun for him to play his scene and run his lines!

So much of the mainstream music these days lacks any discernable melody. I really don't now how people listen to that sort of stuff. The rap stuff I listened to as a teenager had proper music behind the lyrics. Albeit samples of other songs.

2025-05-24 22:59:28 +0000 UTCRed suits you. Can't imagine how humid it must be. Its finally started raining over here. The plant life looks so glum when it's dried out, it's always nice to see the bright green return to the grass.

2025-05-24 16:42:24 +0000 UTCSo your having awful weather as well? We are having the same thing here on the east coast of Australia. I finally succumbed and took my clothes to the laundromat yesterday. So I could dry them in the dryer. Still can't do my jumpers though in case they shrink. Its been raining like crazy for about 3 weeks. Raining so hard it made your head bleed as Blackadder once said. Anyway, on hearing your dilemma I made Chimichurri sauce to go on my bangers and mash. Solidarity sister!!

2025-05-23 04:36:08 +0000 UTCThat's an interesting question about gambling being a sin. Because as a Catholic, and very particularly a Catholic priest, you really should believe that everything which happens is god's will right? So it's not a gamble? It's just God telling you to feck off if you don't win right? :) However, I suspect that historically it comes under the umbrella of usury, which is why that was outsourced to the Jews and now they're all angry that banking has a lot of Jewish people involved in it, like it wasn't them who historically made them do it because Catholicism said you couldn't lend money but they had to borrow and lend money, for profit.

2025-05-23 03:16:35 +0000 UTCIt hasn't rained in over 2 months where I live now. I should've been doing a lot of laundry and hanging it out on the line. Hopefully it'll rain Saturday though.

2025-05-23 03:11:40 +0000 UTC“He got up to stage four after drinking that brake fluid the last time.” lol… “I made her sound like 100.” Haha… But yeah, noisy neighbors are the worst, apart from shitty roommates. That piano story is ridiculous. Getting angry over piano music? At 3 pm? Who does that? Jeez. “Assuming she can walk.” Haha… He did look a bit like Carlin! Ha! That’s funny. Well spotted. “But, dude, no. Put some headphones on.” Haha… Fully agree with everything you said about that type of rap/hip hop. As always, fun vid, Stripey. Love it…

2025-05-22 22:50:34 +0000 UTCI have to say, this show is getting much better as it goes on. The last few episodes have been a great improvement on the first season. Although I did quite like the first episode with the 'fair'. For more giant rollerblade info, check out the comments from last episode.

2025-05-22 22:38:52 +0000 UTCYou asked about sliced bread so as best I know, before the invention of mechanically sliced loaves of bread, well... sandwiches were much less common, and I guess if you did have a sandwich the bread to filling ratio would have been way off because the slices would have been much thicker, and probably a total mess. i would say that it also depends on the time period too. For most of breaded human history, breads of all kinds would simply have been torn up and eaten with other things, or possibly just on their own. I leave that there, hope that helps a bit.

2025-05-22 22:35:40 +0000 UTCRe: the Taskmaster sausage quiz, as the one (or maybe one of) resident Australian(s), I feel somewhat qualified to shed some light on the democracy sausage. Hold on to your hat, this is a long one! First, I feel like it's really a bit of a misnomer, but you make up you're own mind about that. Second, what the fuck is a democracy sausage? It's actually kind of a budget hotdog, but some would argue better than a hotdog. I may be in that camp as I've never been a big lover of hotdogs. So, it's pretty simple. You get, generally, a standard beef sausage, the cheaper the better. The kind you might buy in bulk from the supermarket, which is barbecued and served on a slice of standard white bread, like wonderbread or something like that, again, the cheaper the better. And usually comes with the option of fried onions and a sauce of your choice from those available of course. Generally either tomato sauce (similar to American ketchup), or some kind of brown sauce like barbecue sauce. Sometimes you might even get butter! But not usually. So, the whole 'event' is usually referred to as a sausage sizzle (henceforth will refer to as SS), and is most commonly encountered as a fund raising thing, hence using the cheapest of everything in order to maximise profits for the fund raising. The reason it's started to be called a 'democracy sausage', which frankly is a term I've only heard in more recent years but apparently there is some history to it, is because SSs are often set up at voting stations during election time so people can have a snack while they're waiting to vote. But that's only one instance in which you will encounter them. In Australia there is a chain of hardware stores called Bunnings and they often have a SS set up out the front of their stores, usually on a weekend I think, and there was something of a controversy about their SSs and the onions on them being dangerous 😂. I think the higher ups were concerned about them being a hazard that someone could slip on if someone dropped some on the floor as they were walking around the store eating them. The solution they came up with was that the vendors had to put the onions on first, then the sausage, rather than the onions on top of the sausage. Just thought I'd mention that because it all seemed so stupid yet there was so much controversy at the time. Maybe that's an indication of how good we have it here. The biggest controversy is where to put your onions on your budget hotdog.😆 I've linked a couple of short videos. The first is just the history of the SS just encase you might be interested. If not, you should at least watch the second one which is some great stand up about it by a Venezuelan who moved here. He has a funny take on it but I'm not sure how much it will mean to a non Australian. The first one will help the second one make more sense, I think. https://youtu.be/5Ubo1-WVS1w?si=SffXvjIKGT-uOd_P. Also, https://youtu.be/_MZRGrOKRpQ?si=-DO3xgcPmrkQFc9b. I hope that was worth it.

2025-05-22 22:24:59 +0000 UTCHi Mandy! Just a reminder, the Christmas special, "A Christmassy Ted", chronologically comes at the end of this season, i.e after the next episode. Just like other British Christmas specials you've seen, it's set at Christmas, but very easy to forget that since it actually has almost nothing to do with the plot. The point is, you needn't wait until Christmas to watch it. On the other hand, since there is no real continuity between episodes, you could watch it at any point in this Father Ted journey. It's up to you. Just a reminder. 🤗

2025-05-22 20:32:22 +0000 UTCSeeing you in red is weird (not in a bad way obviously) but it's tripping me out because the ends of your hair blends in and the contrast between your sweater and the background is just tripping me out 🤣 I wonder what it would look like when you had the full bright red hair
