I’d prefer Mandy watches Red Dwarf first, for obvious reasons!

Podey Williams

No. You dont laugh like that

Carl-Fredrik L

Thats a twist where Maid Marion is in charge of the Robin Hood gang.

Carl-Fredrik L

You'd be surprised actually .. not only is it delving into Britains past and digging it up - but the personalities of those running the show (like Baldrick .. erm .. Tony) make it both interesting and enjoyable. I think nigh on everyone in the UK secretly likes to sit down and watch an episode or two of Time Team every now and again!

Jay

Queenie is Rita Skeeter from goblet of fire

Mandy Cane Lane

It was bizarrely fun! πŸ€—πŸ’š

Oh fun! I am so honoured! Hi Tony's mum!! πŸ€—πŸ’œ

Mandy Cane Lane

Ohh, I have always heard of "Hitchhiker's Guide" but never seen it! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Mandy Cane Lane

Yes, yes it was. And I haven't seen the Harry Potters in a long time, but I know it is Miriam, Prof Slughorn and who am I missing? πŸ€”

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha!! Yay for being compared to Richmund! *Happy Dance πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

Mandy Cane Lane

😨 Haha. Thank you for explaining politely 🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

Weather has really been whacky this last decade, huh? 🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha! I love it! Hope they enjoyed the gifts you got them and the excitement was worth it πŸ’œ

Mandy Cane Lane

Most likely! Haha, he seems to have that chameleon look to him πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

Hmm.. this got into topics I don't really know much about. All I can say is a dog x-ray and a fake claim to amputation is just wild, yet, not really all that surprising in Argentina. It's just another Wednesday when news like that comes out 🀭. Anyway, glad to know my voice isn't as shrill as the niece 🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

Such a clever twist on a classic story! πŸ€—

Mandy Cane Lane

Popular archaeology show? 🀣🀣 Never knew that could exist 🀭

Mandy Cane Lane

Very interesting! I did not now Richard was in that and I did not know it was only 6 episodes. It is on my list, but I still have no idea what's next πŸ˜…

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahhaa! "Onion of shock" made me giggle 🀭 And I am so glad we all get to share such fun moments! The British really know how to entertain!

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh fun! Haha, thank you Gary πŸ€—πŸ’œ

Hey Mandy, Hope you had a Great Christmas. And that New Year’s with your family goes / went well. πŸ™‚ Happy 2025 πŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸ₯³ You might recognise this guy, messing with John Wayne ? (πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Presuming you know who he was πŸ˜‰), 50 years ago 🀠 https://youtu.be/31nbTYePtaY?si=mXCXoiyIlwcnLVKQ

Gary Tamblyn

He is also in a show called Maid Marion and her merry men

Carl-Fredrik L

Hey Mandy! Happy holidays (and all that)! I think I’m caught up on your videos now! I fell behind over Christmas, partly for the reason you mentioned in a couple of videos (stuff happening), so yesterday ended up being a pretty busy catch-up day. Oh, and on top of that, I discovered I hadn’t watched the last FOUR episodes of Phoenix Nights! 😱 I have no idea how that even happened. I started watching what I thought was the latest episode, only to get this strange feeling that I was missing something. So I went back an episode... and then another... and another. It was like peeling an onion of shock, haha! But honestly, it was a happy surprise because it meant I had a stash of entertainment waiting for me. 😊 I think it’s time to rethink my system for keeping track - it seems to only work when I watch everything immediately! I had no idea this special of Blackadder even existed. We love British TV, comedy, and film here in Norway/the Nordics, but sometimes things still slip under the radar. I’m so glad you’re so connected to British culture now because I get to benefit from it! I really enjoyed itβ€”it was weird seeing Blackadder as a nice guy. The future segment, though... yeah, that was just odd. And no, you don’t sound like that woman at all! Your sounds are lovely and headphone compatible, while hers was... well, just not. πŸ˜…

Terje FlΓ₯gan

You'll make Miss Mandy jealous. She just LOVES socks! I like the 'being drunk' gag too 🀭

Stevus

Lol, yeah, they probably got an entire season filmed before lunch!

Stevus

It certainly has high production value

Josh Read

https://youtu.be/9UC241S0XBM?si=9RvEKK58C-T5UPie Here's a random episode from the amazing Tube of You! For the record, I wasn't really all that into it as a kid. It is pretty forgettable. And probably not about a frog.

Stevus

It was a kids show from way back, in which Sir Tony would tell stories about a frog named Fat Tulip. At least that's the vague memory of it that I have.

Stevus

What is that? Some kind of fat tulip?

Jeffrey44

It rings a bell - but I never watched it!

Jay

Only his neck, though.

Stevus

Do you remember Fat Tulip?

Stevus

The whitish knight 🀣

Josh Read

Can I suggest Garth Marenghi's Darkplace for the next series to react to? It's available to watch on YouTube and stars Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry and it only lasts for 6 episodes

Sean Riley

Merry Christmas, Mandy! You'll find that the actor who plays Baldrick is SIR Tony Robinson .. risen higher than any other Baldrick who has gone before. The thing he's really known for these days is Time Team - a very popular archaeology show (yeah, I know - who'd have thought .. but it's brilliant) and effectively being the David Attenborough of History in the UK.

Jay

What are your thoughts on Mandy Cane Lane (MCL) reacting to Maid Marian and her Merry Men? Here are some themes you might want to explore in your response... -Strong female lead. -Features Baldrick. -Comedic in nature. -Has an episode set on pancake day. -Socialist storyline. -Based on Disney's Robin Hood. -Suitable for children. -Historical setting. -Jaunty theme tune with lyrics. Thank you.

Jeffrey44

The last big snow I remember was 2010 as that was a legendary snow storm. That wasn't at Christmas . I think it was round March

Danny

Watch an Episode of "Time Team", you'll see Baldrick in a very different light. I think that's what he's known most for (or at least "The Other Thing"). It's an archaeology kind of reality documentary show where they dig out roman ruins and other stuff in britain.

Maik Kellerhals

On my way to my parents on Christmas people were sat outside drinking in beer gardens. More likely to see snow at Easter.

Stuart

There appears to be a bit of misinformation going around. In general the idea that employers are deliberately not employing those with disabilities holds no weight. I've never seen or heard of from any colleague. I've yet to see any evidence of a systematic nature, rather than the few isolated cases and constant debates. Rich people make money off of capital gains and tax avoidance; their companies live and die by reputation therefore it's in their best interest to employ as many different people as possible for PR. I worked for McDonald's, First and EYMS for years which were constantly bombarding us with inclusion content and I worked with many colleagues of all walks of life and they seemed very happy. What appears to be being referenced by Remi is closed to either Autism or Downs syndrome. The term I used: "neurodivergant", is much broader; inclusive of phenotypical and developable conditions. Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Downs Syndrome, Anxiety disorders, Bi-polar disorders, ADD/ADHD, Mania, Psychosis and Psychopathy disorders, Dementia and other such diseases and traits. (Even Chronic Alcoholism is in there) Furthermore, whilst all of these are listed in the DSM-5 (*the USA/Europen index for diagnosing psychological conditions*) with lists of symptoms as extensive as they are disparate: even that does not account for idiosyncratic differences, such as age, sex, culture, genetic predispositions, race etc. which therefore means it's very difficult to classify the extent of the condition and whether or not it affects a person's ability to function independently, and thus whether they require the disabled status and aids.

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

Ehhh i don't think it's fair to bring neuro diverse people into it as it because most of them have a shitty start to life with school, most businesses don't want someone who can't work in a team or openly communicate with other people properly, the main reason businesses hire autistic people these days is to either satisfy their diversity standard

Remi

hahaaaa, like queeny? no. careful tho.

emu cat

While there continues to be debate over whether neurodivergence should be classified as a disablity, I would like to sound a note of caution about attitudes to the disabled here in the UK. I can't speak for what it might be like in Argentina, but prejudice against disabled people has noticeably risen here over the last twenty years, and the media is generally to blame. Newspapers and TV channels have all continually pushed the "scrounger" narrative against actual hard data and evidence. It doesn't help that successive governments, both Tory and Labour, have intentionally leaned into supporting this, because raising hostility against the disabled saves the rich some money. Ultimately, that's what it comes down to.

Michelle Lyons

Nowt wrong with wearing black, mate!

Podey Williams

Great timing on that one! Merry Christmas ho ho ho πŸŽ… PS: don't forget about series 1. You can probably appreciate it now and work out why we said to avoid it at first.. but it's not because it's dreadful.. it's just because it's very different to 2, 3 & 4 PPS: Percy's neck is in it

Wagoo

I know 😊

Rusty Dog

He's a reverse Scrooge!

Stevus

Yay!πŸ€— What a lovely surprise, and I just LOOOVE SUPWISES!

Stevus

"What is this a parody of?" - I was just sitting thinking this whole scene feels a bit "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". The TV version specifically. (There's a few) But that could be down to them both being BBC productions and made in the same era, maybe they reused a set. Not sure if it was a direct parody or just took a little inspiration from it, but deffo had that vibe to it in certain parts of the story. I'm sure you'll get around to that some day when you run out of other stuff. It's a cult classic so may not be on your list of top requests but is certainly worthy. Lots of silly jokes and clever word play in that. "You might feel slightly drunk... What's wrong with being drunk? Ask a glass of water." (Hey you just chalked one show off the list it needs to be replaced, what is the point in an empty list?😜) Thanks again for this treat, definitely a better gift than all the socks I got. πŸ€—

.

I was totally unprepared to hear about a man claiming disability and certifying it with an X-ray of a dog! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ what a good boy that dog is though πŸ€—

DriveIn

Merry Christmas!

Sadbnnuy

Marry Christmas Mandy and to all here who support too! Have a great holiday.

Rusty Dog

Lovely Christmas treat! I watched this whilst having my Christmas dinner :) The tale of Scrooge but BlackAdder style. :)

Rusty Dog

Such a classic episode...

Robbie.J.W

Merry Christmas! I'm stuffed from dinner and all that room I've made in my wardrobe has now being filled again by the bombardment of threads from my sister.β›„πŸŽ„ I know we've mentioned it but honestly that lighting is knocking years off your skin love πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ. One thing tho: Mandy - even at Christmas you're still wearing black, I was expecting a funky Christmas jumper knowing you. πŸ€ͺ Hahah. In fairness that is actually a nice smart top with that shoulder cut. FancyπŸ‘ŒπŸ˜Š (Rant Alert) The UK has a real problem with all these "disabilities" too. Everything from benefits to Bus passes; abused by so many people. Eligibility criteria is too lax anyways; disability status is hard to assign when you take a holistic approach; to consider whether the condition affects their ability to work, to keep house, to keep healthy, to travel, to hold relationships, to do leisure activities...etc... Especially with mental disabilities. Society fails to realise that being neurodivergant or elderly isn't automatically in itself a disability or that you need all these perks, Winds me up no end when I've studied is so much and now see it everyday on the busses. The system needs work. I'm sorry btw Mandy. It's one of those things for me. 15:56 / 39:26 - Mandy's face!!! 😬 - perfect. Hahah. Don't be self conscious Mandy, your laugh is probably the best I've ever heard. It's girly but not 'that' high pitched. Either way I'm loving it. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

Yes Jim Broadbent plays Bridget Jones's dad. He is in tons of stuff you've probably seen and not realised.

Danny

I got several of my Christmas presents for people a few months ago, so I have been waiting impatiently to give them to them πŸ˜…

Danny

It is usually raining on Christmas where I'm at in the UK lol. I think I can count on 1 hand the number of times it snowed on Christmas. And last time it properly did it was probably 20 years ago, but it had been snowing in the build up too

Danny

"Using his John Thomas as a draught excluder".... Well John Thomas is slang for penis, and a draught excluder is something you put along the base of a door to stop draughts from blowing under it

irreverend

This was a great Xmas surprise Mandy, you know how to spoil us! ☺️ Will watch this later when I get home! Merry Christmas/Feliz Navidad everyone!!πŸŽ„ You may have not recognised but Jim Broadbent also played professor Slughorn in Harry Potter too, he’s been in loads of movies and tv shows including only fools and horses!

AWR93

This was a fun treat! Merry Christmas 😁

Sam Froki

Oh still that was just horrible Mandy described it perfectly like scratching glass

Remi

Millicent is actually played by Nicola Bryant, best known for her role as a companion in mid-80s Doctor Who. I can see why you'd mistake her for Miranda Richardson, though - that laugh is uncannily like the latter's Queenie!

Michelle Lyons

There's a small bit cut out of this version. In the exchange between Blackadder and Baldrick about the nativity play, it ended like this: EDMUND: Scarcely appropriate behaviour for the son of God, Mr Baldrick. Weren’t the children upset? BALDRICK: No, they loved it. They want us to do another one at Easter. They want to see us nail up the dog. It's never been confirmed why this edit was made, but apparently the original brodcast got two complaints about "blasphemy"...

Michelle Lyons

Merry Christmas everyone πŸ˜€πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

Danny

15:33 Jesus fucking Christ headphone warning ⚠️ 🫨 Miranda Richardson makes you sound like the goth guy from IT Crowd in comparison Mandy

Remi

No Mand, you do not sound anything like that. You excited tones is pleasure to our ears πŸ€— You spotted Hagrid but missed the 3 other Harry Potter characters 😲😒 The death of Artax was traumatising πŸ˜–

Merreh Christmas Mandy and everyone else that read's this, hope everyone is doing well and if you don't celebrate Christmas then happy hump day πŸ₯‚

Remi

Dear Mandy. You don’t sound like that. Your laugh is magical and makes your reaction videos even better! Your laugh is not uncomfortable like the one in this show! Don’t change, we love you exactly as you are 😊 Merry Christmas! πŸŽ„

Roger Hurst

Nah, she's a huge Blackadder fan, she has all the DVDs and has seen Christmas Carol many times. And I've shown her Mandy stuff before - she loves Mandy and the reaction format almost as much as I do. ☺️

Tony Mingoia

Wouldn't your Mum prefer it without the Argentinian American in the corner?

Jeffrey44

Merry Christmas! FYI, The Gorbals is a quaint little fishing village by the river Clyde.

Hypnobob

Bless you for doing this Mandy! I can watch it with my mum. Merry Christmas to everyone! πŸ₯³

Tony Mingoia

Merry Christmas, I've not seen this myself, I'll have to watch it later though. Hope everyone has a good day
