OMG! Make a claim and fight that! Luckily we got our bill rectified to the proper amount, like a hundred dollars less. Thank goodness! -- Yes, I too have noticed it is mostly women.. still don't get it though 🤷🏻‍♀️. -- And you know here in Argy everything is bricks as well and we almost never have fires. They are quite rare here luckily. Only ever seen it on the news about 5 times in 20 years. And have only seen a fire truck rushing to a fire about 3 times. I even used to live right next to a fire station for 3 years and never heard them take action.

That is an interesting theory! Personally I have never known anyone who was into those kind of shows, so I have no personal insight. I do often hear that woman are much more into crime/murder shows than men though... not sure how true that is 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Psychic 'Clinton Baptist' became a national treasure from just this one smallappearance on Phoenix Nights... He was kist a local comedian (which most of the cast are in Phoenix nights, basically Peter Kay was yet to be famous when he wrote this show and he simply wrote in all his local Bolton standup comedy mates into it and gave them parts). Clinton's Stand Up Shows are always sold out throughout the UK even to this day.... all off the back of the couple of minutes he did in this episode... Check his stand up outon you tube and also on you tube... his appearances on Talksport Radio with Alan Brazil and All McCoist (famous Scottish soccer players now turned radio hosts) where he predicts things like who will win the world cup and the Premier league... is worth a watch too...

murder fascination... Ive always found its logical minds that enjoy it. rule of thumb ive found is that you are naturally gifted at math (which im not) then theres a stronger chance that your sense of humour is less and your empathy is less, thus you can watch murders/real life crimes easily. There's loads of gritty murder dramas on UK tv these days, far outweighs comedy and the BBC seem to have a massive budget to churn them out (just like their peado tv presenters). Never watched a single one of them. Creative / Empath people need comedy not darkness to lift them.

Fire safety is a big thing in the UK much to many people's annoyance. Worst thing we've had recently was the Grenfall tower fire down south. That was due to dodgy construction practices. Thing is tho: our brick and quarry stone houses whilst they can burn don't burn anywhere near as fast as the wooden American counterparts. In regards to crime shows etc, it's mostly girls that love that stuff; my mother included 🙄. I think they're more interested in why people murder rather than how. If only for some gossip. I noticed all of my Psychology class bar 1 were girls and all of them either wanted to work in law or would be interested in things like Ted Bundy or netflix serial killer shows etc.... it's morbid but that's how it goes. 🤔 Funny you mentioned your electric bill before, I've just come home to find an excess service charge bill for £140 due 5 days ago. For the period of July 2022- July 2023. Hmmm. Oddd, cos I bought it and moved in August 2023 🤔😂

I read something this morning; this is the gist of it: Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness have spoken about bringing back their beloved characters, Max and Paddy. They’ve even written scripts for a couple of Christmas specials for their spin-off, Road to Nowhere. However, with Peter Kay's tour running until the end of 2025 and Paddy McGuinness’s commitments until March 2025, it might be a while before anything materialises. Paddy McGuinness recently hinted at a possible return, saying: "We do talk about it… never say never." While he admitted to being "inherently lazy" and preferring to do "as little as possible for as much money as possible," the scripts are ready, waiting for the right time. Peter Kay has also expressed interest in reviving Phoenix Nights for a new film. He imagines Brian Potter coming back for a special feature, perhaps even involving a hilarious storyline about installing a helicopter pad at the Phoenix Club. Kay’s recent memoir suggests he’s still passionate about these characters, and fans remain hopeful for a return. Although it may be some time before we see Max and Paddy or the Phoenix Club on screen again, the prospect of new content is exciting for fans. Brilliant as always, thank you, Mandy. 🤗🤗

Keith Laird is a real person who is involved with fire safety. He wasn't best pleased when this was broadcast because, unlike Keith Lard, he doesn't have any kind of sexual interest in dogs. To make amends, Channel 4 paid him £10,000 and agreed to publish fire safety information on their website. I expect the money has been spent now but this URL still works... https://www.channel4.com/firesafety although there are no longer any fire safety tips on that site. "Channel 4 and Peter Kay would like to state that the character of Keith Lard may have led some persons to wrongly believe that the character was based on Mr Keith Laird. "We wish to make it clear that this was not the case and would like to apologise to Mr Laird and his family for the distress caused."

Some notes and answers: If I remember correctly, according to the DVD cast commentary, young Kenny misspelling Psychic "Pyskick" wasn't scripted, and was genuinely the actor misspelling the word. Neil Fitzmaurice, who played Jeff in Peep Show, is in this, but played Ray Von, the DJ. Clinton Baptiste is played by Alex Lowe, who I don't think you've seen in other things (yet). It was said on the DVD that the acts at the end are real, but in the same way that the audiences are real, almost certainly it's not all of them. I suspect like you that the escapologist and probably this juggler, are actors. The main character is indeed called Brian Potter. Potter is not an uncommon name in the UK. "Nonce" means pedo.

This event was also broadcast in the United Kingdom, by Channel 4 to be precise. Due to the time difference between Phoenix, Arizona and the United Kingdom, Channel 4's broadcast started late in the evening, or night to be precise. The Channel 4 programme had a British presenter, Vernon Kay to be precise. So you've got Vernon Kay presenting a programme at night from Phoenix. What do you think Channel 4 called this programme? I think you will be mildly amused by the answer.
