He may have been In The Peep Show (never watched/liked it back in the day), but he was also in an episode of The Office where he is the guy getting interviewed by David Brent for the job in the Warehouse and Brent along with Gareth are intrigued into why he knows so much about dwarfs.... Pheonix Nights came before The Office and The Peep Show, so, this was his claim to fame to to speak and he got work off the back of this. He's actually one of the best actors in the show imho.

The proverbial ineptitude when it comes to music (especially for northerners like me! ๐ค) using the ever-recycled tunes from the 1960s-80s in our thick accents which, btw, you did very well to understand Mandy ๐ค. Speaking of: apparently Argentinian regularly gets voted one of the "sexiest" accents in the world so I'm still eager to hear you have a go. ๐๐คช Spot on as well with the gypsy wiring up lampposts for power, seen that happen loads especially in Castleford. Hahaha. Happy bank holiday Monday!

Itโs a shame someone spoiled that scene you talked about at the start, itโs much funnier if itโs unexpected. Did you understand why it was called the Phoenix Club? His last club burned down. Their reactions are genuine. Also, most of the episodes feature an act being auditioned, during the credits. Those acts are also real local acts.

Most of the humour is very British in this one, a lot of it specifically a Northern English brand of humour, and sometimes even specifically Bolton humour. But you're experienced enough by now that I'm sure you'll pick up on it. It's a kind of humorous, self-deprecating (which is a very Bolton thing) love-letter to Northern "working men's clubs", and it's Peter Kay's finest work in my opinion. So happy you're doing this. You're brightening our lives Mandy. I honestly can't imagine the world without you. ๐ค

To his and his Father's surprise, when the shoes arrived, they were black instead of white as he had asked for. In the song, we heard how his Father blew a bloody fuse and they decided, quite rightly, to send them back. Although this song could be seen as being about shoes, it could also be seen as being about immigrants, which also come in black and white varieties.

Paddy suggested it should be Max (Kay) but Max said he will not climb the ladder. When Paddy asked him why, Max replied "Two words... Falklands" He was implying that he fought and was injured in the 1982 Falklands War. This is amusing because, if we assume Max is a similar age to Peter Kay, he would have been about 9 during the Falklands War. Also, Falklands is one word. Don't mention the war! Sorry that people keep mentioning the war, first in Peep Show and now this. You did start it though.
