A lot of sources have credited John Sullivan as the first to use twonk as slang for the same reason Red Dwarf uses smeg. They use it to get around not being able to curse pre-watershed.

*whispering* Okay, so a further word of warning (if you read this) mince pies also traditionally, so not all, but typically they actually have things WORSE than raisins (in my opinion of course), like hard little cubes of dried citrus rind. Now I love citrus. Lemons, oranges, Mandys. Huh, huh. See what I did there.๐ So don't get me wrong. It basically comes from a tradition of bulking meat out with cheaper options, which at the time in question was largely storable stuff that has been preserved, so mostly dried fruits. I don't know when it started but Del Boy used to call Rodney a twonk now and then. The Jimmy Nail song you are thinking of will be Ain't No Doubt, he's had a few albums over the years. A lot of his music came from a TV series called Crocodile Shoes. It's not a bad show if you ever come across it.

Hey, that's funny, I often call people 'twonks' but I don't know why or where it comes from. Is it a Jimmy Nail thing? The only thing I know about him is a song he released in the early ninties. I know some of the lyrics but not the name.

I don't think you will enjoy pointless. The celebrity ones are probably OK for you, but you won't know 90% of the references. It's a quiz show in which you have to pick the LEAST common answer to get the best score (the lowest score) and now I've really confused you haven't I. You know what, fuck it, check it out anyway, I'm sure we'll all get a good laugh out of that. You won't though. I can't remember what the first one was but I watched quite a few reaction channels a year or so ago.
Mandy's channel came up in my feed, I clicked on it (how could you not?) and the rest is history. I binged Mandy's content and haven't missed a video since.
I stopped watching a few other channels after finding Mandy. Now I only watch a few, depending on their content. But with Mandy's channel, I'll watch whatever she puts out there.
Mandy just does it better imo. Ticks all the boxes and avoids all the reactor channel clichรฉs. If I had to only watch one reaction channel ever, Mandy would be the one - no contest.

Melvyn Hayes is notable for his part as 'Gunner 'Gloria' Beaumont.' in the 70's TV sitcom, It Ain't Half Hot Mum. He was part of the army concert party and liked to dress in drag. Great series.
Mince pies can be meat but also at Christmas we have sweet mincemeat (not actual meat) which are made up of sweet mincemeat, a mixture of dried fruits, sugar, spices, and brandy.
Great episode. You were totally on a roll until the guest.

I did end up remembering some of the stories but not who was true and who lied (apart from the Who am I) so that was good.
I agree that Naga was really good with the Who am I thing and I also think whoever in the production team found that picture at extremely short notice is amazing. Obviously they just googled and saw the picture and it happened to look like Lee but getting it into the show so quickly and not disrupting the flow was amazing and really made me think she was telling the truth because why else would they have a picture ready!
On the other side I really don't like when they give Lee (or David but mostly Lee) something so clearly not true that eats up 10 minutes of the show. I get that he's one of the stars but its just a waste of time and I'd much rather they use that time for someone with a story that could be true.

Weird coincidence how there was quite a lot about Cliff Richard in this Wilty from 2023 and also in yesterday's xfm from 2001. His film Summer Holiday was the one with the dangerous bus scene. No a mince pie is not meat. Its spiced mixed fruit, normally in a boozy sauce. Traditional Christmas treat. They are also called minced meat though, youd never mistake them though with the savoury variant if you saw them, which you'd just call a meat pie.
