Hiya Mandy, Ok, I’ve my work cut out for me to catch you up with Season 9, so here goes… 10:20 Greg: “if we could just eke this chat out for a few more seconds” You replayed this bit - not sure it made it any more sense to you. The unusual word is eke - to make something last longer, by consuming it frugally. (And Greg slurred the word chat - sounded a bit like shat the 1st time maybe? 😆) So He wanted a bit more chit-chat after Joe blurted out “soap”! 11:10 the mild version of surprised? Hmm, 🤔 lemmie see, there’s gotta be a completely underwhelming word for it … “I noticed” 😀 Could I beeeeee any less surprised?! without throwing in extra adverbs, I barely noticed, or anticipating it beforehand 🔮 16:09 Mandy: “Fruits have so many different names and they’re all basically the same thing” Yeah, and what is a fruit anyway, but the mature ovary of a flowering plant. So lets all call them all ovaries!!! Better protection, but can be a bit fiddly. 33:38 “What are refreshers?” An old-school sugary chew bar, quite nice actually, they’d have gone for the original flavour, a sweetened sherbet-like sour lemon flavour. They play against the Chasers who are like professional quizzers who are really good at general knowledge and stuff. Paul is one of these Chaser and is known by the nickname Sinnerman. I felt it was important to know what was people's impression and expectation of Paul before he did Taskmaster and how that turned out. Basically people thought he was this super smart guy who will be amazing at tasks but well.

As a 42 year old Englishman, I have images of Mystic Meg, Orville, etc permanently burned into my subconscious (if only I could delete them somehow), but for non British and/or younger people, these images must help a lot. I tend to forget how much random British or "of its time" stuff there is in the xfm shows mixed in amongst the Pilkington gold.
