Comments

is it? I would call them acquaintances.

Nathan

She can do way better than mark and that ugly fucker she married

Josh sloan

Hahaha! That is some silly stuff if you ask me Matthew 🤭🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

It is perfectly normal for a man to be friends with someone they don't like or share interests with.

Matthew Beckford

"hearing voices in my head, I swear to god it sounds like they're snoring; but if you're boring you're boring" - wondered if you, being a creative person, have ever heard voices on the edge of sleep, or had trouble with 'exploding head syndrome'?

Mattoid

I really like the song. The singers vibe was a shock though 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

I remember downloading the song on Limewire under the name "Paranoia - Harvey Danger". As others have said the true title is Flagpole Sitta. Sad now, all caught up on Peep Show and Taskmaster. Might rewatch the Pilko Podcast reactions

Mattoid

Awesome! Thank you Nathan! 🤗🙌🏻

Mandy Cane Lane

I've not fully caught up. I love this show and it isn't cringy to me but I love seeing your reactions to the things you find cringy :) and you aren't even halfway through the entire series! Definitely some interesting episodes coming up!

Lee Dellbridge

Found it, not sure about the whole episode being any good, but the song is from the Series 6 X-mas Special (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3Ta7Xa4238 and it starts at 39:44 on that particular link)

Squeesher

Thank you Ben! I have since heard the full song and really liked it! 🙌🏻🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, will have to find that! 🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

The theme tune is a shortened version of the song Flagship Sitta by Harvey Danger

Ben

You are welcome MCL! Look forward to the next reactions for PS

David Baker

You should be haha

Michael Harrop

Alex has a whole song about Henry with his band The Horne Section. I think he plays it on an episode of Cats Does Countdown, but I can't remember which one

Squeesher

Cool! Thank you so much David! I totally forgot to look them up! 🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Hope you are enjoying Lee! 🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahaha! Very true! 🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Lmao! Great memory! 🤣🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Welp, other comments have got me scared 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

I wish I had never asked! 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh, ok. I had no idea, thank you for explaining Tony! =)

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you very much Joeb!

Mandy Cane Lane

I am now scared 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Hey, if I can show off what I have learned, you better bet I will! Hah

Mandy Cane Lane

I think it was more common in the 80s. I was the top academic student at both my schools, so I've heard plenty of both, but yes, boffin certainly ousted spod by the 90s. Spod is probably accurate to when Mark would have been at school.

Tony Mingoia

I've definitely heard that 2nd group of people being called "boffin" more than "spod", was a new term for me

Squeesher

"With the Henry Hoover?" loved the little flex of your British cultural knowledge there 😄 and now you know what a handyman is... 😂

DriveIn

Next episode is maybe the greatest episode of any sitcom ever and I'm pretty certain Mandy will hate it 🤣

Michael Harrop

The song is Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger

Joeb Rogers

Re: the words "flid" and "spod". I'm afraid the first is rather unpleasant. It's a derogatory term for someone who is physically awkward or incapable, or a genuinely disabled person, and is a contraction and corruption of the word "thalidomide". (The voiceless dental fricative"th" being pronounced like an "f" by Brits of the lowest social classes). "Spod" isn't as bad. It's still somewhat derogatory, but is aimed at intelligent, bookish, studious people. People who have gained a lot of knowledge, especially of science, through focused study. The etymology of the word is unknown, but my own personal theory is that it is a contraction of "Science bod", a term used in the mid 20th century for someone educated in the sciences.

Tony Mingoia

A handyman is indeed the same thing here Mandy, someone with a toolbelt that fixes things, around your house or business. Despite the job title, Jeremy seems to be more like an assistant, a general servant, and not a good one! Edit: I wrote this comment halfway through the episode, forgetting that "handy man" takes on a second meaning by the end. It's been a while since I saw this. 😅

Tony Mingoia

The next episode is a classic. I genuinely don't know how you are going to react.

JokerDanny

Yes, Jeremy is a confused, disturbed individual🤣 The intro song i remember being used in American Pie.... google tells me lol, they are an american Alt rock band from seattle. nice place from i remember *shrugs

Industrialist2015ofUk

Its very "Mr. Brightside" that way.

Kirk Deighton

I love how whenever Mark does something like this it's the most proud Jeremy ever is of him 🤣 they deserve each other. Mark did at least decide not to go through with it, he does have a slither of humanity in him, Jeremy wouldn't think twice!

Michael Harrop

I didn't expect them to be American, the song has a very 90's Britpop feel to it.

Almost caught up! Starting Season 4 today so should get to this tomorrow :)

Lee Dellbridge
