TREE WIZARD! 🎡 🎈🌳

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHA! I aspire to know lots of random shit as well! xD

Mandy Cane Lane

TREE WIZARD

Josh sloan

If you dont already know richard osman used to be on a show called pointless and yeah he knows lots of random shitπŸ˜‚

Josh sloan

Richard should have won the prize task. Every dinner party needs a dog. Who else are people gonna blame their smelly bum woofs on? πŸ’¨πŸ‘€πŸ‘‰πŸ• (I feel like I just mansplained in emoji πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚)

Seinfeld was out around the same time as Friends and people tended to lean one way or the other. Personally I like both. Seinfeld was groundbreaking in its writing, mostly because of Larry David rather than Seinfeld himself. It doesn't get really good till the 3rd season. Maybe give it another try? You never know, you may appreciate it now.

Feathers McGraw

Hahaha, because that was a very Karl thing to say! LOL And I have not seen Seinfeld, could never get into it.. xD

Mandy Cane Lane

That charity donation immediately made me think of George Costanzas 'The Human Fund' (don't know if you're a Seinfeld fan or not) I've seen a fake Human Fund certificate on etsy, I thought that was a great idea. If you haven't heard already, the Lordship thing Katherine bought for Greg is just a scam, nothing legit about it at all. I love your quote "I don't need to show the working, these are just thoughts". Why did that make me think of Karl?πŸ€”

Feathers McGraw

I am not going to lie Matthew... the Tree Wizard grew on me... Lol. Thank you, I will check it out!

Mandy Cane Lane

I know you weren't impressed with "Tree Wizard" first time round. But if you want to see more silly performances like that, you should watch a show called "The Mighty Boosh"

Matthew Beckford

Hahaha, very true! πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHAHHAHA! What if I told you it was all planned? Well... I would be lying. Lol

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahhh "Lady", I should have known that. Sounds less fancy though πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

I love dogs, but they are terrible dinner guests!

DracoMint

The fact that you ruined the plan A quote only goes on to prove the quote's meaning. You failed the first time, so move onto the second attempt :p

To be honest, I think you could make the same informal title changes to your credit cards, airline tickets, hotel reservations etc without the document!

π™ΆπšŠπš›πš’ π™Όπš˜πš›πšπšŠπš—

The title packs are based on a historic Scottish land ownership custom where landowners have been long referred to as "Lairds", the Scottish term for "Lord", with the female equivalent being "Lady". I think it's a completely informal title with most jurisdictions allowing you to update your title when you choose to do so.

Ahhh, I see. Thank you for explaining Enby!! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Mandy Cane Lane

Yeah, real Lords sit in the House of Lords as the second chamber vetting legislation from the House of Commons. They are a combination of hereditary Lords where the title is passed down and appointed Lords. They serve for life generally. A cushy gig.

Kiwi Tau

That is quite nuts to me! But hey, whatever floats peoples boats! πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

Do real Lords have any power?

Mandy Cane Lane

Sounds like a great gift to give and to recieve! Question: if a woman recieves this gift, is the word also 'Lord'?

Mandy Cane Lane

I imagine there is much more to talk about! Very complex and interesting stuff! Kudos to you my friend and thank you for explaining all this! πŸ€—πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Very happy another episode is up so soon, Taskmaster is a joy to watch and your laughing through the episode is a highlight of my week. Darts is a pretty big thing over here, played in small arenas for a few thousand very drunk fans who are often in fancy dress (like it's halloween). I'm not into Darts at all but when I went it was a hell of a good time

George Harvey

A real 'Lord' is an aristocratic / noble (ish) title. These certificates really are just landlord titles with none of the aristo nobility attached.

Just waiting on my PhD corrections to be accepted. My PhD is in 'Investigating aspects of galaxy evolution with gamma-ray bursts' so this is all PhD work. The universe has gone through several phase transitions, the last one (referred to as the Epoch of reionization) currently can't be fully explained through observational means. This is largely due to our technological limits (one that hopefully the recent launch of James Webb Space Telescope will mitigate). A theory was developed that the dominant source of the phase transition was due to small, young, star-forming galaxies rich in UV-radiation but we couldn't see them. My PhD is on a method that bypasses the limitation by using the deaths of specific stars which produce a burst of gamma-ray radiation, which have a knock-on effect of producing an 'afterglow' of lower-order radiation (x-ray, uv, ir etc) and this afterglow 'imprints' the details of the galaxies it passes through. Gamma-ray bursts are currently the most energetic (and hence brightest) events in the universe, and can be seen considerably deeper than the passive photometry detection of galaxies/stars/nebulae etc. They also occur due to specific circumstances, and a subset of GRBs occur due to specific types of stars that occur in... small, young, star-forming galaxies rich in UV. So if a GRB imprints the details of the galaxy it came from, and are so bright that we can see them much deeper than normal observational methods, and we can pinpoint to literally within a specific location of the galaxy it came from. Then if we observe a GRB, do a follow up for its host galaxy and NOT find the galaxy... well that means we've just got information on the type of galaxy the theory is interested in. Get enough of those into a large enough sample and we can start to make statistical predictions to confirm/deny/limit the theory. That's my PhD in a nutshell, though there's considerably a lot more that could be talked about.

I bought the Lordship certificates as Christmas gifts off the back of this episode. It served its purpose, it was quite thrilling for them to don the title of Lord, even for a little while. Anyone who thinks they'll be a UK Lord of the peerage variety, will be sorely disappointed, it's just an abbreviation for "landlord", an owner of land. It suggests you can change your name on bank cards, etc. (which allow you to call yourself anything, anyway) Not a passport. I got value for money from it. They were pleased as punch on receiving it, and naturally forgot about it weeks after. It's a novelty present.

Will do Jeffrey! πŸ€—πŸ€—

Mandy Cane Lane

What do you do with the stars Joe?

Mandy Cane Lane

Although you explained your dilemma with regards to not watching the credits in case your screen was shared at the end of the program, I'm still disappointed that you pause the video so early. The TaskMaster had only just met the strong man and who knows what would have happened next? It's been a while since I've seen this episode but as far as I remember nothing of note happened but my point is it could have done and you would have missed it. Could you consider watching at least until the last credit because things of interes do happen in some episodes.

Easy to scam people in regards to things they have very little understanding about. It's pretty much harmless (to wider society) though since it's not like people who actually deal with stars in a professional/amateur capacity (like me) need to care about what those scams do.

Joe McGuire

Aye, get that, never understood the star thing πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Mandy Cane Lane

I do what I can when I can! πŸ€ͺπŸ€—πŸŒˆπŸ™ŒπŸ»

Mandy Cane Lane

Buying the 'Lordship" for Β£20 is a scam/gag gift. It has no legal standing. Same crap as those 'i bought a plot on the moon!' or 'i bought a star and named it after you!'. Just a waste of your money.

Joe McGuire

Thank you for not letting us wait a whole week for another episode of this. :D This was great!

Marvelous Martin

I feel like telling the Mayor all that would have gotten him more impressed than what he did... LOL

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh, ok cool! I still really want a pair of rear view window glasses!! πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA I feel like an asshat, LOL 🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

Richard is a television producer first, he came up with lots of our gameshows and helped make the UK version of Big Brother. He made a very popular BBC quiz show called 'Pointless' and decided to star in it as well, which is how he became famous as an on-screen personality. Since he was on Taskmaster he has also become a best selling author

James Aston

Buying the taskmaster a gift is a bit of a tradition - just like meeting the Swede (and a few others that I wont spoil!). It evolves as the seasons go on, but it always guarantees a good time :))
