Not only did Josh win with the bean point which annoyed Romesh, but without that point it would have been a three way tie to see who won the series, that'd've been interesting. I think the trophy is a fair reward for the tattoo, and also the blank check he gave to Frank Skinner, a worthy winner.

I will not delete as it is respectful and informative. I now understand the vegan position better and thank you for informing me on a topic I didn't know enough about Joe. I will again point out that what I said was with many videos of Argentinian or Spanish people who have lovely little farms and since they did not eat the eggs they would regularly take them and smash them on the floor.. But there are always going to be people that do more harm to a cause than good because they have no idea what they are supporting or why. 😅 LOL. Thank you Joe for being kind and respectful! 🤗

This kind of discussion can lead to a bad time, which is not what Mandy or this patreon wants. As such I'm just giving the facts to clarify a point Mandy had and I'm not looking to start an argument with non-vegans. Feel free to delete if you feel it's too divisive. So the thing about the eggs is a misunderstanding. There probably is quite a few who have a problem with the eggs and some of those won't have any more nuance past 'it's disgusting'. But the actual 'correct' reason is that chickens (and other animal egg sources) are still horrifically abused and slaughtered to produce eggs. We don't have one breed of a chicken that's both used to produce eggs and to produce meat, we have separate breeds that have been designed for the specific purposes. When I say designed, a mean it as it is. We've spent however many thousands of years breeding these animals to specifically produce meat/eggs efficiently at the detriment of their own bodies and health. Egg-layer breeds don't maintain a constant level of egg production through their life and after their production peaks they are slaughtered in order to maintain overall production efficiency. Additionally you have the entire male gender that doesn't contribute to the egg-laying, beyond being used as studs for the artificial breeding, and even then it's a significantly tiny % of the overall male population that hatches. As such almost all male chicks are slaughtered immediately. So while you can argue that eating an egg in of itself isn't killing an animal (and hence fits in with the non-nuanced vegan definition of 'don't kill animals') you're still contributing to a system that kills animals indirectly in the process to produce those eggs. And remember, anecdotes of 'but I have chickens on my property and we take good care of them blah blah blah' or 'i only buy free-range eggs blah blah blah' does not change the facts of the global egg industry and its practices.

The whole series was about Josh Widdlecomb's counting tasks really. You noticed that he won by one point, if he wasn't awarded the bonus point for the counting tasks, he would not have won the series and so would not have the karate trophy. He had the last laugh.

Only thing that sucks with this drive is that the quality is really bad (only 360p). I used to use this one to watch it back when they didn't upload the episodes on Youtube.

The youtube player has some handy keyboard shortcuts for micro-navigating the timeline: J: back 10 seconds left arrow: back 5 seconds , (comma): back one frame K: pause/play . Thanks for the New Years gift of an episode Mandy! Happy New Years! Can't wait for Season 4, it's probably my favourite early season. Re: vegans and eggs, I believe their problem is with the way chickens themselves are treated in order to mass produce eggs as a product; historically poultry farms have really awful living conditions for the chickens. Obviously the reality these days is a bit more complex than that particularly with free range farms becoming more common and viable, but people who are vegan for moral reasons (as opposed to health reasons) ultimately don't believe it's right to support the dairy industry as they see the entire industry as the immoral exploitation of animals, so they avoid being consumers.

Josh winning is slightly controversial because he won by one point, meaning the bonus point that he was given for counting the beans actually won him the series. On the Taskmaster Podcast Josh said that at the wrap party he overheard Romesh talking to Andy Devonshire the Director saying 'the fucking beans point'

In the blooper video the fake task they are doing is 'count the hundreds and thousands' which presumably was Joshs idea as he had been made to count a load of beans and stuff at that point 😂

I think the issue with the eggs is that the chickens are still farmed for them, they're not free. But then there's organic eggs. I don't know I'm not an expert, or a vegan😂 I think that's the problem but could be wrong🤷‍♂️

On youtube they stopped putting up the censored version after series 4 or 5 I think, so even if you can't find the earlier series uncensored somewhere else, at least the later series will be uncensored even on Youtube.

Mandy, I use an app called Justwatch. It's on all platforms. You type in the programme you want to watch, and it will list all streaming sites available in your location. However, I do know Taskmaster is on Prime. Justwatch will be a very handy app for you.
