"Daily" Update: Living in a Rubik's Cube
Added 2018-03-21 18:14:28 +0000 UTCThis post is going to be mostly positive, which should be a refresher after what must seem like a constant parade of "we're delayed because [insert frequently repeating circumstance here], thank you so much for your patience."
To begin, the best news: we've finished writing the script for our Slavic folklore episode! And it's... very long. But I also think it's quite good, so I'm excited to move forward with it and share what we've come up with.
Also, good news resulting directly from the aforementioned best news: I'm planning visuals today, which means I'll be able to start creating visual assets tomorrow, which meeeeeans... you guys'll start getting sneak peeks again! An oasis of material appears in the desert of slowly-produced content.
And then finally, some not-so-good-but-not-the-worst news: we're moving our recording setup. Our living situation right now is such that every room of the house we inhabit is under construction. Things are constantly shifting around or being torn apart around us, including the vanity closet we've been recording out of for the better part of two years. Luckily, there's another walk-in closet we can move all our things to. The problem is that this house has a radon pump attached to it, which hums hypnotically through the exterior wall of this closet. So beneath our test tracks, we are plagued by a constant Hmm-Hmmm-Hmmmmmm, which makes getting a good recording more or less impossible. Luckily, with some fiddling around I've come to some settings with our microphone and our software that should more or less mitigate this issue. I still have to run a final test, but I have high hopes!
With all of your help, we'll be able to get out of here and establish a consistent base of operations (read: house/apartment that isn't under construction) before too long. We long for the day. Until then, we'll keep going with what we've got and create the best show we can.
Thanks for everything, you guys. We're still chuggin' along.
