Fawlty Towers - S2E3 - Waldorf Salad (ETS21 Reacts)

Of course a Californian would bitch about a salad...

Also huzzah! You can see our faces better now :)

You had me laughing almost as much as Fawlty Towers which is saying something! What with Dan's explosive diarrhea talk and Spencer saying "Destroy your bottom," and Dan's slightly horrified expression as he cautioned, "No, no......"

Tonia Laws

peter parker says: destroy your bum.. :)

the 'American' is Canadian Bruce Boa, British based actor who was part of some well-known North American faces on British TV and movies that were filmed in London studios, from the 1960s-90s, that required an American character. Boa himself was in The Omen, Superman, Empire Strikes Back, Octopussy and Full Metal Jacket among others.

another expression you could use is pick a window you are leaving

This is a favourite episode and the best bit in your reaction was when you paused to muse on British equivalents to "bust his ass" and I was dancing in my seat in anticipation knowing that Basil himself was about to answer your question with his "break your bottom" bit (not a real expression obvs, haha!)

Stephen McDonald

I think for bust your ass our closest saying would be kick your arse

Mark Jones

'Knock him out', 'A good drubbing', 'do em over', 'spark 'em out', 'put the boot in', 'duff em up', 'beat the living daylights out of them', to name a few phrases we might say for beating someone up.

I think it's my mum and dad's favourite.

Spencer mate, your green screen needs work but apart from that this works fine.

We had months of uninterrupted sunshine in the UK last summer and we were still complaining about it.. Its what we do 😂 As far as 'Bust his ass' is concerned.. For starters we say 'arse' and not 'ass', which might have confused our friend Basil. We might say 'do him over' 'knock him out' maybe?? 🤔

Top story on the BBC news site right now is "Snow and ice as UK records coldest March night since 2010" 🤣

If you don’t know what to talk about in western Europe or want to do some smalltalk you can always complain about the weather. It’s a safe and relatable topic. The most downloaded app of all times here in the Netherlands is buienradar, which is a weather app to tell you when and how heavy it’s going to rain on your location up to the exact minute.

Ah, my least favourite episode. This has always been the episode I skip whenever I do a full watch of the series.
