2025-06-18 22:39:44 +0000 UTCI wish you had taken my advice to rewatch a bit of The Rise of Bangtan that shows why this song is particularly important in a Korean context, but yeah… I hope you still caught that as Korea has the highest rate of suicides amongst young people in the world it was extremely important to highlight this problem and speak out against oppressive practices that literally kill young people and offer hope to the youth 💜

South Korea has the world's highest suicide rate in student age group so it's a serious issue. Most students go to normal school then go straight to a "cram school" from 5pm to 11pm or midnight. And this isn't just students in their final years, it's right down to primary school. It's a lot of pressure. Just as an aside , I'm a bit disappointed you didn't watch the official MV on the Hybe channel (company which owns BigHit) - they always have the official English translation. You're taking views and income away from BTS by watching unofficial videos. Plus unofficial translations can be dodgy sometimes. I get it for lyric videos when the song has no official MV but please always watch the official one when there is one. I realise you were probably unaware of this as it sounds like someone recommended this particular version so I'm not criticising you. I just wanted to make you aware of it going forward. Borahae 💜
