0.6 Development Update 41

Hey, folks!

This is the first proper Dev Update of 2023. Almost a full month since the last dev update, sorry about that. I took a few days off after New Year's day, and then had to finish the Beta and the EA versions, and kept putting the dev updates off for later. And now it's time!

Let's start with the short review of last year. ... It, uh... ... It sucked. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, 2022.

Still, we made it through. And while the game's Patreon suffered at least in part due to the delays and smaller updates, the team is back up to speed, and we've even added one part-time position on the project. And we are all just super grateful to you folks who stayed with us during those tumultuous times.

There are still challenges in front of us, but I'm certain we'll be able to surmount, overcome and all that stuff. Here's to a better year!

The game

Now let's get back to the game. Yesterday v0.6.9 moved to EA with all the planned content finally finalised. For starters, Rae and Cait's SM dream looks way better now, so definitely check it out again.

The new side events, while not that heavy on story, were super fun to make and I hope you find (or already found) them sufficiently entertaining as well. I mean, c'mon, Lyriels is just adorable in that one:

And now that I think of it, naked Naomi could easily hide in plain sight in the library with all its wood panelling and premium brown leather sofas. Perhaps an idea for an scene, hm-m?

v0.6.10 and onwards

The work on the next build is going well. We're finally going back to Yona's story, and we have a tightly packed series of events in store for you. Yona is about to reveal a lot about her family, her people, and the events that lead to her arriving at the House. You are going to go to her world, in dreams and etherwalks both and there will be a lot to see there.

Yona's story will continue for two updates, then we'll probably do an update or two advancing personal stories of other girls a little bit, and then there will be a big main story push. Things are about to get spicy. And then they will get even spicier, but that last spicing up is still a long way off.

We'll try our best to fit in a new sex scene into v0.6.10, and then we'll have another sex scene poll for future updates. In any case, there's a special bonus coming to all Friends of the Rift in February. Here's a little teaser:

I'm taking a break from Wed Nips until at least the end of January, but I will start including lore dumps in the dev updates, probably starting with the next one.
