0.6 Development Update 39

Hey, folks!

The Xmas event is now live and it will be available to experience until Jan 15th. The only other thing coming to 0.6.8 is the new set of hidden items and related bonus images.

Sorority Party won the Special Dream Poll with a narrow lead over the Free Use office. This is probably the most complex of the possible choices, maybe only tied with a Masquerade Ball, so we’ll have to put in at least a month or two of background work before we can present you the event. But it’ll be fun! Oh, and we won’t be humanising the characters, your opinions on that were heard very clearly.

v0.6.9 is in development, making early target renders, writing scripts, all the good stuff. We were debating trying to cram another one of Naomi’s events into EA, but decided to do it properly in 0.6.9. Her current story arc is over anyway, but this extra event will provide some insights into her story and will do a little bit of foreshadowing for the upcoming arc.

The main part of 0.6.9 will be a series of cosy events involving a sort of a scavenger hunt, some DIY activities, and perhaps a spot of friendly competition.

We’ll also try to finish remastering one sizable dream event, and maybe we’ll be able to include another event or two. And then we’ll go back to advancing the girls’ stories in 0.6.10.

In the last Dev Update I asked you folks what kind of extra info you’d like to see in the dev update. The general reception seemed positive enough, so let’s have a vote on the options. And I’m still open to doing something altogether different, so please post your ideas!

Just to remind you, the current options are:

1. Story teasers. Very vague foreshadowing of things to come. We’re getting close to finishing the plans for the whole of the main story, so there should be plenty of things to tease in the coming months.
2. Lore dumps. Want to read all of Dun Eideann’s theories of ether mechanics? Timeline of Naomi’s travels? All of Lyriel’s titles and her family’s lineage?
3. Vignettes. Just some random bits of dialogues or short scenes, all text. Something that would be a bit out of place in the game, just having fun with the characters.
4. Q&A sessions. This is more vague, but we could do that if you folks are interested. Won’t touch anything too personal, of course, but otherwise I’m open with sharing more info.

I'll probably try to do all of those options at least once, but this poll will let me know which ones I should prioritise.
