You can use the patch to upgrade any version beginning with 0.5.6a1, just make sure to get the right flavour (hi-res/compressed).
To use the patch, place the .exe file into the game’s root folder and launch it.

The walkthrough:

Prerequisites: 

- Need to have went back to MC's world with Rae/Naomi/Cait

- Will need the backyard for one of the latter events in the chain

Part I

Cait will ask you to talk to her one evening. You should accept.

Part II

After the talk, visit her and Rae in the Library when they are there together. Another conversation will happen.

Part III

The route splits. 

1. Suggested route

If you didn't visit Rae's mentor yet, proceed with Rae's route until you do it.

A few days after the first visit Rae will ask to talk to you. When you agree, she'll say you should visit again.

If you visited Rae's mentor already, she'll say you should visit again pretty much ASAP.

Visit Rae's mentor again. She'll tell you something.

When you wake up, Rae will tell Cait the good news.

In a few days Cait will be ready to go.

2. Alternate route 

In about a week Cait won't be able to take it anymore and will come to you in the night.

She'll ask to go.

You'll probably say yes eventually.

Part IV

You go with Cait. Your journey ends in an unexpected way.

Part V

When Cait and Rae are in the library, go and join them. Another conversation will happen.

Part VI

Backyard should be unlocked for this stage!

When Cait and Naomi are in the backyard, go and join them. Yet another conversation will happen.

Part VII

Cait will come to you in a few days. Agree to go with her again.

The journey is the end of this update.
