0.5 Development Update 4

Hey, folks!

First of all, want to say thank you for all your kind words and comments on the last update.

I do believe I was too dramatic in that one and whined too much. It really isn’t that bad, I probably received more words of support than complaints even before I posted my rant, I just grew too used to praise and little to no pushback.

I apologise for the last update post. I should have worded it differently, and I should have handled feedback better, much better.

But at the very least, the feedback pushed me to make some changes. I updated Yona’s model a little bit, and I redid her in-house events with the new model for v0.5.0 Early Access release. Her posture changed a little, she should look more proportional, but changes to her face are probably the most noticeable:

New eye shadows, darker lips, slightly adjusted skin color, better face shape normals, improved tusk and fuller hair.

In addition to that, after experimenting with the binary patches (from alpha to beta) I decided to change the structure of the game’s asset packs a little bit, so everyone will have to get the full v0.5.0r1 (or a later one), but starting from v0.5.0r2 and v0.5.1a1, those of you playing on Windows will be able to get only the patch files and update the game to the latest version without redownloading the whole thing.

I’ll try to stick to about 5 versions with a single cumulative update, so for example, to update to version v0.5.5 (when it releases) you’ll have a single file that will update any version from v0.5.0r1 up to v0.5.4x. Then there will be another cumulative patch for versions v0.5.5-0.5.10 etc, etc. But enough about that.

After redoing the whole pre-reveal attic BJ event I started testing it. First of all, have a look at the old render:

And don’t you dare tell me the old one was better. Anyway, after that, I checked out all the new animations, checked that the event finishes in a proper manner, and the MC is sent back into his room.All working, all good. But then...

Another part of the starting arc happened, and I wanted to cry, it was just that jarring. I’ll sneak away a day or two in the near future and will redo these few conversations. There aren’t that many renders in there, and they really let the start of the game down.

That won’t happen for at least another update, though. Next update is going to bring in one of the scenes that was voted on in the latest side sex event poll.

Don’t worry, actual story progress for Lyriel is coming pretty soon, too. It will require some previous event modification to reconcile some happenings, but I should be able to do it in a reasonable timeframe.

Next update should also bring the first of Yona’s lewds. The thing is, story-wise, she’s going to get multiple lewd options almost at the same time, and I’m not yet set on a starting one. Consider this pic a teaser more than anything, it might not be included into the next build:
