0.4 Development Update 22 - IMPORTANT SALES TAX INFO

Hey folks!
Let’s start with the important stuff. Starting July 1st (note, it’s JULY), Patreon is going to start adding sales tax to every tier pledge within certain countries. The actual calculations will vary depending on your jurisdiction, but in essence, you are going to pay a bit more. There’s not much I can do about that, but I can adjust the “value” of the tiers. I’ve been told by you folks time and time again that you are pledging to support the development first and foremost, and all the perks are just an extra. And I know for a fact that most of you do not even download early access releases. So I set most of the “value” of each tier to “general support”, as in, a donation, and in most parts of the world this is exempt from sales tax.
I do not have much in the way of concrete data, so if you think I am wrong on that, let me know, we might do a poll or something so I will be able to readjust the tier values.
Now, to the development. I kinda underestimated the time required to review all the writer position submissions, and life stuff happened again, so I’m running late with the update (but you are probably used to it by now). It should still be out in one form or another before the end of the week, so those of you folks pledging for Alpha will get it this month.

Naomi is looking good! That second one though, so dark I can barely even tell that it's Rae. As for the tax changes, won't affect me. Already pay VAT on everything, even the donation tiers. It's basically a tax on *life*.

2020-05-29 23:49:12 +0000 UTCI already know that I will be seeing tax added, heard about it from the others I support, and I will tell you the same thing I told them: I don't mind or care, as I am hear to support the people who create the games (and the one artist) that I enjoy! I pay sales tax for the things I buy, and consider it normal, so to me, this ain't no big thing. You do your thing, and don't worry about it, not like you have any say in the matter anyways! I will just continue to enjoy the awesome game that I happened to find one day while looking for something new to play and decided to to Support! By the way, love the new Renders!
