I believe I made a post earlier about clothing references within my story. Lili clothing within the story is dwindle down to three.
1. Her clothing is based on Edwardian fashion, normally women do not wear pants within the Edwardian era but the dream world is fantasy based story meaning that though the influences of the Edwardian fashion and etiquette is referenced I have liberty to be creative. Her Edwardian blouse is very simple both in color and patterns as well as the puff over the waistline. Lili needs to hide from her enemies and must blend in as much as possible. the blouse is made of cotton and is very light. I created her clothing to be as simple as possible not only so it can easier to draw but to also to help her move around and escape easily.
2. Her white dress is heavily referenced from Sailormoon princess serenity Dior dress, as a little girl I grew up watching Sailormoon and always wanted to own a dress like hers. Its very simple yet memorizing and that is what I was try to achieve with Lili white dress. Edwardian dresses are made to look elegant and mature as well as give the S shape silhouette. Lili white dress does not have the S shape since it is based by Paul Poiret own straight tube sheath dress as well as giving the draping effect. Poiret created the modern clothing to reflect a shape and design of the Edwardian age by bringing back the classicism and orientalist within Art Nouveau. Lili white dress reflects a less constriction feeling reflecting her ability to move freely and elegant at the same time.
3. Lili's golden dress is a tad different, it heavier and more elaborate, I have no real influence for this dress beside Belle from beauty and the beast. Lili's golden dress was the first dress I created for her. It was to give the appearance of a dreamy world effect and to make her seem unreal and untouchable more like a goddess.
