2022-08-08 12:16:51 +0000 UTCThe video is great. I think you did a good job of putting into words some of the reasons I can't get into TikTok. I really tried, too. I cleared my watch history twice and each time it seemed like I'd like a couple TikToks from a particular "side" or whatever and suddenly that's all I got. I'm glad other people can find stuff they like about it, but I never once found something and thought, "That was totally worth the 10 minutes I spent swiping." My biggest problem is it's complete inability to provide any context to any subject worth discussing. I watch you, Sarah Z a few "BreadTube" creators and so on. If it's a subject I'm interested in, I enjoy a well done deep dive on it. I looked for social work stuff since that's what I do and it was pretty much what I expected. Maybe 80% were just old, boring jokes about social work. We're underpaid, we're overworked, we deal with some eccentric people. There was also some stuff that was just basic stuff any social worker out of school should know. Also, these were the most attractive social workers I have ever seen. Nobody was less than an eight, and after your video I'm guessing that just wasn't some kind of self-selection bias.
