My seminar thesis was all about eugenics and racism in medicine/science. Race has zero affect on anything genetic wise. Race is your phenotype (how you look), has nothing to do with any biological function - aside from why some ppl develop darkerskins, which has a couple of factors, geographical location, for an example. There is more genetic variation within people of the same race than there are variations of people between races. Sadly tho, this racist rhetoric is still baked into society today, you just need to know what to listen for . Examples: BW are still heavily sexualized and dehumanized. Hormone levels in BW have been discussed to be too high for them to complete in women's sports (an issue ppl forget when they try to ban trans athletes based on hormone levels. Its a horrible criteria to hold to). Black ppl are often told they are articulate when they speak "proper". Black men are seen as lazy or unintelligent. The list just goes on and on. We haven't made the progress some love to claim. I agree about your opinion on Leo tho. you wanna see a convincing racist? Michael fassbender and sarah Paulson do a phenomenal job in 12years a slave. Its scary lol. Def a harder film to get through though. And since I brought it up, Matty, if youre gonna do anymore films that focus on slavery, maybe throw in some black focused comedies (like white chicks) to offset the difficult themes of most films staring black folks. Theyre great films, but it gets tired watching ppl only watching films where black people are suffering.

However, you can't get far without property or weapons and it's not like you can hide your skin color as you travel. Polygenism (shown in that conversation about the dimples in the skull to suggest Blacks are "submissive") is a pseudo science that was popular in the 1700-1800's to help white people feel less guilty about slavery. There is very little research that is reputable about the differences between races and the impact on personality - best you'll find is research proving that Black people have more testosterone than whites or non-white latinos or asians - you can draw your own conclusions about the impact on personality but the studies only prove that it's why we have deeper voices.... All that said I like this movie, though it's not one with a lot of rewatch value for me. Leo got a lot of praise for it because he's a GOAT but IMO he's not a convincing racist...at all.... and I'm not complaining about that.
