Chipping underway

My friends, I applied the washes, highlighted the small details, did all the steel chips and now I'm applying the rust tones with oil paints. This process is much more fun than I remember! Of course, more chipping will follow once the rust tones are in place - chipped weld beads and Zimmerit!

Just a quick update before the weekend... I'm working on something else that's model-related, and I'll show it to you once it's all ready :)))

Martin, I'm curious if you ever use pigment powder. Thanks.

The Major

Yeah, that's why I'm not sure if there would be even any damage (besides the obvious, oh no, my tank is on its roof, that's probably bad). Anyway, at least you could call the diorama "You can't park there, mate!"

Wolfgang Hinze

That's an interesting observation! I didn't notice any specific chipping in the historical photos apart from the torn running gear and some missing parts on the hull. Even the spare tracks stayed in place on one example I used as my main inspiration.

Night Shift

Yes, Germans used oxide primer on all of their tanks. I mixed it from the same colors as I used on the Ferdinand a few months ago - flat red, flat brown and buff :)

Night Shift

Thanks a lot!

Night Shift

very nice!

Midnight Modeler

Badass!!!

I think that you're already a fantastic modeller and you explain what you are doing on each section of your builds

Steve Ramsay

Beautiful work as always.

Joseph Youngerman

Ooh, a teaser in the works!

Christopher Bernique

Your dedication to the art is phenomenal.

Hans Zupp

Looks great!

I found your content looking for chipping ideas and you never fail to deliver! You are THE chipper!

Jason Shiskowsky

Please advise what did you use for the Red Oxide color. Were all German Tanks Painted this color as they came off the assembly line

Michael Sigmon

Lovely, the chips at the front of the hull really make ot look like this cat got dragged over a bunch of rubble, stones and vegetaion. Do you plan to add some more specific chipping where the bomb blast hit the tank? I'm not even sure the blast itself would do chipping damage but some rubble would surely hit the tank.

Wolfgang Hinze

wow Martin, phenomenal
