Just the figures now!

My friends, the groundwork is finished. Well, that was quick! I don't know what was behind it, but probably the fact that the buildings were so much more fun and I just subconsciously gave more effort into their painting and aging. The base was just the standard procedure, although I spiced it up with lots of dried, trampled grass inspired by Google Street View of the real place, and also dead leaves in the corners. The scene isn't an autumn diorama (hence the dandelions), but decaying leaves are often present in places with little to no maintenance.

I was thinking about ways to make the place look more cluttered, but ended up with just some planks and a block of concrete which I made while I was creating the large slabs. It's funny how certain processes become almost automated once you learn certain techniques that work perfectly each time. The concrete block was painted with sponges and finished with an enamel wash and it all took no more than 5 minutes. Something I would struggle with a year ago.

Also, this time I didn't base coat the weeds with a dark color, instead I toned them with Slimy Grime light and dark. It created some very nice effects on the pre-colored PE nettles!

Alright, now for the miniature lass. I hope everything will go smoothly!

Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now! Just the figures now!

Haha, the nettles are a single piece PE, but the leaves on the ground are individual. Also, the dandelions are built from 4 pieces :)

Night Shift

That's the plan!

Night Shift

You summed it up better than I could! :)

Perfection

Man that looks great. I love the color palette.

Enigma Models

They are left over from his Bicycle Shop Facade from earlier this year; he'd collected old enameled advertising signs from Czechoslovakia, screenshotted them, and created an A4 document that he sent to print at 300 dpi on a glossy photo paper.

Solomon Hollowell

Where did u get the signs from

Mick hancock

Brilliant, especially loving the signs so realistic with the patina , spot on 🍺

And a future project in a similar setting could be the New Beetle bus from Ak !?

Roy Pedersen

I swear if you built each leaf on those flowers I might lose it hahahaha. This looks spectacular. The cracks and shading...brilliant
