Dysfunction bunnies Art Collection

This is all the current art for the Dys-bunnies! My oc shapeshifter forms that represent Executive Dysfunction & Overstimulation, positive & negative energy, or adhd & depression.

Are these still Luey? Yes & no; I want them open to interpretation, so there are multiple ways of seeing that type of character. So I'll treat them as different characters that can interact with each other. In some way, they are a part of Luey:

Some see them as romantic, quite like Ruby & Sapphire from Steven universe, that have the ability to fuse into one person as a metaphor for love & wholeness.

Separately they could be something like Mas y Menos from teen titans, completely separate but need eachother to function; codependent.

Some see them as personalities occupying a headspace, like characters from inside out.

Genuinely I have no issue with any of these interpretations, each has a unique tie to the intimacy & conflict that stems from such opposing personalities.

 now they have a dedicated look to them, but in previous pieces I've showcased similar emotions:

Why rabbits? Rabbits are known for being generally energetic and lively, so there is an expectation that people may place on them and that alone can be taxing.

Dys-bun-ctional: This form's name can be shortened to bun, or you can still call them luey.

They represent executive dysfunction. Physically this is represented by their body physically being hindered by itself. Their feet are very big and can't walk very well, and their ears are very long & they trip over them constantly.

 I deliberately started them out very simple, and slowly revealed a bit more background. I like that I went with this route because I got the exact response I wanted in comments, which was all the things they "need" to do. "why dont you tie them back? Why don't you put them in a backpack, etc." Which is exactly what people with ADHD face.

People telling you all the ways you should get better, but don't understand the core issue isn't external. This comic as a follow up helped showcase that and I'm glad could re contextualize the issue! I'm always glad when social media gives that ability through a unique viewing experience.

Is dysbun the same as burnout? no, Burnout is the long term shut down caused by over exertion. So while they are a symptom of burnout, it takes a different form all together:

Hare-brain

Hare-brain is a rabbit with upright ears, and can easily turn into dysbun if bogged down long enough- Their ears wills imply get heavier and heavier until they can no longer be a speed demon full of energy. They have fangs that represent them being a bit feral acting. They are full of creativity, but lack organization, and self management. They want to do a lot, but don't recognize or acknowledge their own limitations. So they are a sprint, not a marathon. As a person I'm constantly having to self manage, So similar to the picture, there's some part of me reminding myself I need to put some projects to the side, or even eliminate them all together for more reasonable expectations. I have a lot of goals, but I have to build to them gradually.

Is hare-brain the same as mania, then?

I've done quite a few drawing on the concept, but I will give it's own dedicated post as I've been drawing them over the course of the year.  Mania is certainly fueling hare-brain, but it itself has a "true form" which lore-wise is the source of Luey's abilities to shapeshift. It is the source of all passion; for better or for worse!

 April Patreon rewards will feature bunny Luey which I drew and was actually the inspiration to make these characters! It kind of makes me want to do something special for this, we'll see :)
