Ready for paints!

My friends, the Sicaran tank is ready for painting. In fact, it's already broken down and covered with Mr. Mahogany primer at the moment :)

You might've noticed that it doesn't have a commander figure in the turret. As I was assembling him, I noticed it was just a torso with a large cork-stopper-like bottom that goes into the open hatch. But unfortunately, that feature would be painfully visible. I know that we can cheat a lot with paints, but I'll try to paint this model in a more realistic fashion, and I don't know yet how much I'll be able to rely on shading.

Because of that, I'm still keeping the figure as an option which I might add later!

Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints! Ready for paints!

That's sad to hear but understandable :)

Good catch. The front part where I added a panel line is bolted in place, and that large interlocking steel plate at the back of each sponson is just a weird design choice. So I decided to make it look as some kind of positioning or alignment element that was welded to the main hull and the sponson slides on top of it.

Hey, Soviet tanks didn't have their casting seam lines cleaned-up, why should a Warhammer army be any better, right? :D

Night Shift

It reminded me of the US Ontos, but your comparison is more on the money!

Night Shift

I wanted to add some stowage at first... but it's one of those cases where the shape of the tank isn't very stowage-friendly :(

Night Shift

At least they provide enough surface for heat-affected rusty metal :)

Night Shift

It's a hammer used for war... duh! :D TBH I don't really know a good, simple definition of the genre either.

Night Shift

At first I wanted to make a rocky base for it since the paint job is inspired by real bulldozers and most of my reference images come from quarries. But after seeing the sheer size of the model I reconsidered it, and after some more thinking I decided to skip the scenic base on this one, because if I decide to sell it one day to a collector or a gamer, they might appreciate it more without a base! :)

Night Shift

Uhm, one thing I noticed: there is a spot on each side, where is a welding line missing. Why is that? Can the sides be lifted of, or are they doors like an old SL300?

you know Martin if you carry on in this vein youll be cleaning mould lines of resin figures en mass and building armies like a warlord in training. when it comes to warhammer armies, Stalin was right, quantity has a quality all of its own.... "Do it"

Love it Martin , I grew up building WarHammer !!!

Frank Perrone

That is one crazy mean looking mo fo. Reminds of the Russian terminator on steroids.

Paul Garrity

Quite fascinated by the amount of surface detail you adjusted and added. Just stunning. Curious to see you have added zero stowage or other features. You are full Of surprises master Kovac

Stephan Krul

The turret is interesting looking!

Trusting without a doubt about your ability to make “real” this “unreal tank” the only thing I don’t like are the 4 rear mufflers

Stefano Scaccianoce

Ouffffff NSFW

i still don't really know what warhammer is but this looks cool and that's what counts 😁

Joxar

I can't wait to see what Martin magic you are gonna do

BRAD VAUGHN

Awesome! Do you have a teaser for us what kind of scenic base you want to do? It could be an opportunity to go a bit crazy since there's no historical or real-world reference. No matter what I'm looking forward to what you make of it! :)

Jeremias Hübner

Ow, Nice choice uncle! I am looking forward to this one!

CyBear
