Happy New Year!

My friends, I hope you had great holidays. I ended up with flu and high fever on Christmas Eve, and the 25th wasn't about visiting family, but the emergency because it was really bad :( I was sick the entire time, even on New Year's Eve. I feel better now, and when I compare it to my quick Covid at the start of December, that was a total walk in the park compared to this hell.

So there was no Christmas spirit, family visits, and also no modelling. This week I managed to start catching up, and I'd like to get this facade finished soon so I can start building the M4A2 King Kong. I'm glad that these two projects lined up so nicely because King Kong will be all about wood effects and here I managed to get some good practice.

Here's a recipe for very quick, simple wood effect: paint the textured plastic sheet with AK British Khaki, then give it a few black ink washes, let them dry completely, give it a drybrush with Light Earth, and finish with another drybrush and selective painting with Deck Tan. Boom, done, that's the effect you'll get as seen in the last photograph.

Back to work, and more progress soon! :)

Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Happy New Year!

Hi. Martin what other putty would you recommend for making your putty as I can't get Tamiya putty due to the putty having certain things added so I can't find any model shops who sell the Tamiya putty in the U.K. thank you in advance
