New mini vignette

My friends, yesterday I completed the Valentine diorama video, and started cleaning my studio. And would you look at it, there was a spare Valentine Mk IV turret from Tamiya laying around! Not to mention an entire Mk IX hull with full interior, but hey, a small turret is more vignette-friendly and less time consuming :)

Okay, jokes aside, I planned to make a small creek vignette with the Mk IV turret from the beginning. The Tamiya kit is very simple, and because I already assembled and detailed the Bronco turret for the Mk IX, the detailing workflow was very fast and straightforward. I did one extra detailing thing that made me feel like a heretic, and that was using the internal gun breech from the Bronco kit - so, technically, a small gun barrel with a LARGE breech from a different cannon - but pssst, don't tell anyone! :) At least there's something in there.

My initial plan was to use two figures, and add a small tree trunk in the corner of the scene. Well, I spent quite a lot of time changing things around, and the tree was just too much for this little diorama. Also, the two figures didn't really work together. The one in the scene is from Alpine, and as usual, the assembly was totally painless. For me, and for him :)

What you see in the last photo is a 3D printed cattail plant from RT-Diorama. It's awesome to see where the technology progressed in a few years, but damn, that thing is HUGE! I'm not sure where, and if, I'll implement it into the scene, but it would be a bummer not to use it! We'll see, right now I need to glue every piece of foam together and cover the surface with VMS Smart Mud.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)
