Kevin Green was an all-star gymnast in high-school and college. He was on track to go to the Olympics when he and his teammates were captured by ECLIPSE and forced to commit a series of crimes using their incredible athletic skills. By the time they were rescued and cleared of charges, Kevin’s shot at the gold was gone. Wanting to prevent this sort of thing from happening to anyone else, he created the costumed identity of Blackbird.

Kevin’s superhero career was equally short-lived – less than a year after putting on his mask, he was hypnotically enslaved and reprogrammed by Dr. Hypnos into his most successful servant. Keeping his name and costume, Blackbird now serves the cause of evil! Hypnos added a device, usually concealed in the bird-emblem on his forehead, allowing Blackbird to hypnotize with both his voice and with the hypno-optics built into the emblem.

Since the start of the gang war between the underworld factions in Iron Harbor, Kevin has used his hypnotic powers to embed himself in the police department. He is charged with taking over the cops not already on another crime lord’s payroll.
