Mud tones (finally) done

My friends, heavy mud finishes always take the longest because there's just way too many layers at play. But, BUT! I've finally got them done!

The pre-dusted upper surface were first treated with the same paints and techniques as the lower hull and running gear. After setting up this base layer, I went over the entire model (tracks and wheels included) with my trusty dark mud mixture (Ammo Earth + Dark Wash + Wet Effects fluid), adding the final effects and contrasts.

I also took care of the exhausts and some lost panel lines using the Sepia oil paint (exhausts were also airbrushed with a flat black Tamiya paint).

And now, all that's left are some grease stains, polished metal edges and antennas! So the tank itself will be finished tomorrow 😁 And then the tanker figure, probably a small base, and maybe some stowage to give it more color? We'll see!

I expected it, but couldn't properly imagine it during the early stages :)

Thanks!

Night Shift

So any doubts about the mottled post-shading approach have to have thoroughly gone out the window at this point. It all tied together just like you said it would, beautiful model.
