My friends.... this enormous project has officially reached the finish line and oh boy, it was a joyride and a rollercoaster at the same time. The more I was reaching the end, the more I started disliking the whole thing, the more mistakes I kept noticing, etc etc. But finally completing it... it's a great feeling and there's definitely a strong sense of accomplishment!
Sadly, just like my personal opinions, the phone pictures kept getting worse and worse, so I'll snap you a few more photos tomorrow once I clean the workbench - detail shots will have to do for tonight.
Painting the cat was really a hellish experience, I tried the bright cat eyes and it was an uphill battle to say the least. Overall it's a nightmarish looking cat π€£The dog, turns out it's most likely a Weimaraner, was too greyish when I painted him "historically accurate" and he was blending in with the cobblestone road, so I had to do a few brown glazes, but overall, I'm super happy with how he turned out!
I think the greatest takeaway from this whole project is my newfound confidence with painting stuff that ain't armor. A true testament to that is the tarp I quickly did under the sitting crewman in the last picture because, as you might've noticed before, he was kinda floating in the air. I painted the tarp while the putty was still soft and it took about 20 minutes including the sculpting phase. Compared to an hour for each tarp not so long ago (on the T-55) that's a huge improvement! π
So now I just need to put these 340GB of footage into one not-overly-long video and my struggle to keep up with the upload schedule for this year will be over! π
