My friends, once the basic construction is finished, it's time for the sweet golden PE to enter the game and pimp the model. I've done some of the most important stuff so far and PROBABLY found a photo of the vehicle I'm building, but from the other side. There's no way of telling if it's the same tank, but I'll take it (hence the bent fender). Now for the less fun stuff, tool fixtures and clamps, which were all repositioned to the engine deck.
It might seem strange, but yes, this is the most I was able to do since the last update I gave you. Long story short, my mom has been admitted to the hospital a week ago. The irony is strong in my family, because she also fell from a bike, of course not in a gnarly situation as I did, in fact it was at a walking pace on the road. Well, she hit her hip and couldn't move. Doctor said nothing was broken, but after a week spent in pain she went for another check-up and another doctor said the opposite - the hip was, in fact, broken. The only solution? Surgery, complete replacement of the hip joint. Apparently it would have to be replaced a few years down the road anyway, injury or not, so at least that's something and she didn't have to wait a year in queue for a new joint. She's being released from the hospital today, but she has physio and recovery in front of her.
So yeah, that's the reason why I kept working at such a snails pace, why the updates weren't that frequent, why I might've seem unenthusiastic or just plain odd in my replies. Technically, it's nothing gravely serious or life changing, but it's gonna mess you up. That's also the reason I kept postponing the Zimmerit video and why I was only able to finish it on Friday. I simply couldn't focus on writing and talking about model stuff when this was happening in real life.
But hey, everything is gonna be better now, and there's not too much stuff that needs to be added to the Jagdpanther, so I'm pretty confident it'll receive its first coat of primer and paints this week! 😊
