My friends, you all probably know that moment when you're about to get something done, there's just one more thing left to do and then it turns out looking like pure crap? That happened yesterday, the only thing I had left to do was apply some enamel rust washes on the exhaust and call it all ready for dust and mud weathering. But it turned out looking just awful! Those pics are at the end of the gallery, btw.
So I stripped the entire exhaust down and repainted it today. It was so embarrassing, it looked even worse than the original exhaust from the old model ๐ฅต
But alright, it's all fixed now. Rust effects on the tank were done with enamels as usual, I just made extra sure to keep them very limited and subtle, blending them several times, etc. The exhaust instead was done with oil paints... white base coat, some blue washes here and there, then chipping with a dark brown color, some remnants of the menthol green paint and finally oil paints.
Now we're ready for tracks, dust and mud!
