IS-7 Step by Step

My friends, it's time for another one from a few years ago, this time from 2016! Trumpeter's IS-7 in 1/35th scale with Voyager photoetch and scratchbuilt side bins from brass sheets - these look like PE, but it's hard scratch work 😁 Back then I didn't know about the benefits of copper which is softer, easier to work with and looks prettier - and most importantly, people won't mistake your hard work for some pre-made photo etched set 😁

This model is a strong departure from the pigment-heavy techniques we've seen in previous posts, at this point I already had Adam's fantastic books and it was probably the first model I've done in a really "systematic" way.

Cool but I was thinking of the brass shells on the back lol but great info on the un- exploded one 😜

Eric

The shell was super easy, I just stretched a piece of sprue over a flame, cut it off and drilled a small hole in it. Then I simply pushed it into the hole (I drilled it all the way through the turret)

They just keep getting better uncle Its really given us a look into your style and how it developed over time. Loving it. How did you do the shell cases By the way 👍
